I couldn't tell, but for the fungi, is it possible that it was one big tree that has evenually crashed down in that area? Maybe it was covered in the fungi before it fell.
My daughter has that same green bath turtle, he comes in a set with a whale and an octopus. He looks kind of lonely sitting on the tree by himself. The painted rocks thing is really popular in my town. There is a FB group where people are constantly posting what rocks they have left around town, feeling excited about brightening someones day. The trouble is that most of the paintings are ugly. Lol. So I don't think it really excites the finder all that much. Or maybe I am just a callous person :)
It looks so very barren still in the woods, other than the moss. You must be somewhere well up north.
Oh yes ma'am, we are in the frozen state of Michigan! Hopefully things will start to turn green and bloom soon. Oh I really appreciate you letting me know there is a FB group of rock painters lol. I used to love when I was a kid and would find all kinds of treasures in the woods. There were amazing things to be found! My brothers and I were always dragging home things for my poor mom.
Nowadays, I find different things, but, all the same, they still hold the same cool factor. I love the bark and finding unusual things in nature.
