Sublime and Beautiful Art on a Sunday
It was a grey day but we got to see some art on the way to see some art LOL
Welcome My Friends
To My Sublimely Beautiful Sunday
So today we went to the Detroit Institute of Art. While I will show a few examples, I have so many cool pics that I will break it up over several post.
The steam used for heat is everywhere! Of course I hope the same happens with Steem!
Sadly although Detroit seems to be making a comeback, there are still many empty homes that are boarded up.
I want to thank @ace108 for running the beautiful Sunday tag every week and keeping such detailed stats. Also, a shout out to @c0ff33a for the sublime Sunday tag where your random Sunday posts are always welcome!
even the building itself is a work of art!
Of course they had huge murals and rooms full of beautiful furniture and paintings!
But after 3 or 4 hours of walking, we were ready for some food. One nearby spot was Buddy's pizza. I was not wanting to drive all around and Buddy's was supposed to be good.
So lets check it out!
Funny, Buddy's has their own art lol.
They did make some pretty food too!
MMMMM!!!!!!
I had wings but I think I may have gotten some pizza grease on the lens LOL!!!!
I hope your Sunday was beautiful and sublime.
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh! I have Detroit Art Institute envy for sure! Don't you know it!
It has one of the largest and totally significant collections in the US. She is on my "need to see" list. Look at that interior!! Diego Rivera did the most incredible work on the almost 30 panels using the Ford Motor company as his subject.
They have the Vincent van Gogh self portrait, but, honestly, he did quite a few of them, but, i never tire of him. Hello! He's Vincent van Gogh. The pen and ink from Michaelangelo... There is just too much to mention. I am so glad you and the kids got to go.
And furniture! My favorite. Well, no. I like art too. Do I have to choose? Or I can swap the likes.
Total envy, but, I am glad you had fun and great pizza and wings too! I made some of the Mexican yummy today and had a chimichanga without the tortilla. But, it was heaven scented in the house this morning.
Sounds like a #beautifulsunday to me! Sublimely so!

Tip!
Oh yes the DIA is extensive! Literally a bit overwhelming. It is like you are on beauty overload. I really think it is best experienced in smaller chucks over several visits. I think that is our plan. I wont post them all here because it will be overkill, but I have some rather nice furniture pieces to share with u :)
Oh yes indeed! I still have fond memories of being waken by that most incredible smell wafting into my room. Pure delight! I am hoping my teacher will help with chili soon ;) I have campari tomatoes to use up LOL...
It really is. I love overwhelming Galleries! It just means I get to go back again and again without being bored. I think a nice #MarketFriday with furniture pieces would be amazing, don't you? Or you can send them all to me. ;)
Oh, yes! My house is still producing the fond memory as I write this. I may just make another one today just to have something ready to go in the refrigerator. Unfortunately for you, yours doesn't stand a chance of hanging around that long. But, that just meant they liked it.
Chili? I am not cold. Whatchu talking 'bout, Willis?
Yes you don't want perfectly good campari tomatoes being thrown in the landfill. Like I say, don't do it for me, think of the children and having to eat this day and day out...
OMG! You should be ashamed of feeding those poor chilluns like this! Have you no conscience man??? Turn that package around so I can see the nutritional value of it.
Then I can say shame on you.
Hi @old-guy-photos! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @dswigle!

That building is really cool. BTW, it's pretty grey here these few days too. Rain and all.
Looks like yous had yourselves a pretty good day love that truck painted on the wall :)
Good art.... good food..... what more can you ask for.
Sounds like a fun day.
Detroit looks like an amazing place to visit, I have seen those steaming road grates in many movies - but it's actually real not just for effect!
The institute of art is stunning, loving the ornate roofs and lighting - and the murals just stunning.
After a hard day looking at art - you need a good feed and it looks like Buddy's does some great food - but of course you just nibbled on a salad!

@old-guy-photos,
Great photos, Paul. And those murals ... impressive. And good looking food!
Poor Ol' Detroit though. It is the very definition of a Shakespearean Tragedy. I was there a few years ago ... it was heart-breaking. I wonder if it will ever find another calling.

Art everywhere you look... Even in the food. ;)
