Just to make you hungry: TRAVELOGUE / GASTROLOGUE
Hello everyone!
I went on a fun little trip last weekend. I had a business meeting with a newly started Blockchain consultancy in Stockholm and I used the opportunity to meet up with another good friend who came from Helsinki to see me. She joined me during the afternoon part of my meeting on Saturday.
After the meeting we went to a nearby indoors market with lots of cute little cafés and restaurants:

I was only a few hours after lunch, so we weren’t that hungry yet. Instead, we shared a big pot of rooibos tea (shout out to @teamsouthafrica!). The the clock approached dinner time, we ventured into an Asian Fusion restaurant and shared a bowl of sashimi, including some typically Swedish morsels, like reindeer and moose. So yummy, all of them!
The bowl was served with three kinds of dips: soya sauce, oil with chili, and a kimchi-flavoured sauce. My friend and I agreed that all three were great, but kimchi was the best!

We spent the night at my friends’ lovely house in the outskirts of Stockholm. Next morning we headed to the city centre to meet-up with the old-time friend from our student years in Lund, her partner and they baby-girl. We ate brunch at one of my favourite cafés in Stockholm: Cykelcafé Le Mond.
I had a plate of three American pancakes with maple syrup, two fried eggs, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, pieces of kiwi fruits, oranges, watermelons, honeymelons, green sprouts and goat cheese. The combination of contrast flavours was delicious and the food itself very filling!

After the brunch we spent a couple of hours exploring some tourist attractions and then, once were a little tired, headed back to my friends’ house. There we helped to cook a dinner of vegan hamburgers with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut as a side dish. Yum!

Then it was time for me and my Finnish friend to hurry to the ferry terminal to catch a boat to Turku, Finland. Originally we planned to have a buffet dinner onboard, but, as we still felt very full after the meal of hamburges, we went straight for the dessert!
We both chose a plate of vanilla cream custard served with mint, strawberries, and rhubarb jam. I had a glass of sweet dessert white wine with mine and my friend had cider.

Next morning my friend got on land and I stayed onboard for a return day-trip to Sweden. This time I took full advantage of the buffet restaurant onboard. My lunch consisted of a different seafoods, and lot of veggies fried in a dough, tempura-style. I think I had tempura mushrooms, tempura baby-corn, tempura red beets, tempura broccoli and a few others…
I also had a plate of small cakes and a cup of chocolate mousse, but I forgot to snap a pic, sorry!

I had a table by the bow window and could enjoy a lovely view of the archipelago, as I sipped my tea:
That’s it, folks! I hope you enjoyed my gastrologue!

Oh my, you have me hungry here! That looks amazing! Never thought I would say that a vegan burger looks delicious. Those pancakes look good too, with the eggs and fruit being a bit of a strange combo, but I can get into that. =)
Glad to hear your blockchain ventures are still doing well!
Little typo with kiwi pieaces =P
Thank you, mate! I’ll treat you to a pancakes / eggs / cheese / fruits brunch in Stockholm, if you ever visit Sweden! ;) And thank you for inspiring the theme of this post and for lending me the catchphrase for the title! :D
(Extra thanks for catching my spelling mistake – I’ve corrected it now!)
I am that kind of person to visit another country just for the food! Hahaha, but if you will be there and showing me the sight that would be amazing! Will surely let you know if I ever go that way.
I am glad you sent this along man, I started to feel full the further I read.
How did the business meeting end of things go???
If you are out and around taking photos of cities or things to see in your travels, pls. LMK on those things so I can see what it looks like all these places!
Great job man.
Thanks man!
I got a new client for my crypto-coaching business. And we will see if there might be a role and a fit for me at the company I was meeting with. I hope to hear back from them soon.
Good job buddy.
Your journey is tiring? behind your journey whether you got such a special experience?
choice of food food was very tasty?
I actually got to relax on my way back from Finland. I spent the day onboard the ferry boat, napping, eating, reading and filling in tax reports, haha!
The experience was lovely. And the food was tasty, indeed!
Thank you for your comment!

That makes the hamburger from burger kings I ate look even worse lol.
I've never seen so many things piled onto pancakes before!
That buffet plate looks the best! Your trip seemed great. Hope you are well, buddy.
Thank you, mate! I really enjoyed it. I’m going to take a similar trip in three weeks from now, when my Finnish friend will celebrate her birthday with friends in Helsinki. I’ll make sure to take more pictures of the buffet onboard!
I hope you are doing well too! You’ve been very productive with your blog lately – I have some catching up to do! ;)
