In this part of the world, we most times bother ourselves about some of the most trivial and irrelevant things when it comes to raising a child. Imagine where sometimes you see parents argue on what age to buy a kid phone or what not, what school they should attend and why it has to be a stiff competition with the neighbour's son who attends a school that's the talk of the town. Why do we most times bother about these good but not just as important issues.

Here it is, I believe the first thing every parent should teach a child is:

RESPONSIBILITY

Help children to take responsibility for their:

Lives
Good times
Mistakes
High times
Moody times
Grades
Failures
Successes
Etc....

When children take responsibility mentality from a very tender age, I believe it gives them this sort of self awareness that helps in discovering their inner strength and how to use that inner giant as the need arises.
