"One Picture And One Story Week #60"

Hello my fellow steemians, it has been a while but I'm very happy to be back here.
I want to thank our esteemed @suboohi for creating this wonderful contest for us to share our stories. I also want to thank the Steem for Pakistan
My story is a unique one which has taught me a lot of lessons. I hope you'll learn from it too.

Divorce is a legal separation between a married couple. This happens when there is family crisis or misunderstanding between the two parties involved.

Last year, my parents got divorced. This really hit me hard because i didn't know how life would be with just one parent. I cried my eyes out, i refused to be consoled.

It was like a part of me was leaving.
I was literally depressed, i stopped going to church, attending any social activity or hanging out with friends. I took a break from steemit community because i wasn't in a right state of mind too. I stayed indoors crying and wishing it was a dream. I really loved my parents and I didn't want to see them apart .

Fast forward to this year, i decided to go closer to God and find comfort in him. Attended church services, praise concerts and bible study.
That was where i learnt that some things are meant to happen for God's plan to be fulfilled. I also learnt that instead of beating myself up for what happened to them, i should push myself to achieve more and make both of them proud wherever they are.
I am their joy and if i can be the best version of myself, my parents and I will be happy.

To every child out there battling with their parents divorce, please don't beat yourself up, it is not your fault.
Rather strive to be a better version of them.
Go closer to God, confide in him. Let the holy Spirit guide you. Seek advice from trusted adults. It isn't the end of the world. But the beginning of a new chapter of your life.
