OUR AFRICA, WAKANDA AND THE MONEY FALLACY

Hello steemians,

I have something I will like to share with us to challenge our minds a little bit.

It seems everything that happens in African, Nigeria precisely has always been reduced to a money problem. Yet, that's one ideology that continues to keep us grounded, lazy, and irresponsible - both at the state and personal level.

For example, our educational system is dysfunctional , so we conclude it's simply a money problem - and then we pump in more money and when it doesn't get better,
we pump in more money

Our roads are not accessible , so we cry out for increased funding on roads. Our security system is porous and a total embarrassment, and then what do we do? We increase allocation - allocation of more money, of course. Our states can't pay workers' salaries, so they tell us there's no money - in other words, they need money and more money.

Our hospitals are not working and then doctors cry out for more money and more money. Our dear Super Eagles or Falcons make a bloody mess of themselves on the pitch and NFF say they need more funding from the Federal Government to "fix the issue". And the list just goes on...

We think that by just adding (more) money to our problems and stirring just a little, we would serve ourselves a nice, cold, nutritious solution. But doesn't it appall us all for once that we have been on this same vicious circle of myopic thinking for close to six decades? Yet, nada! We are still stuck. I mean, just watch the way a typical Nigerian talks about his or her problem. It's basically points to one thing - MONEY.

And as soon as the money comes in, the brain shuts down. Then we take that same mindset to enter politics, start a business, run a family, serve in a workplace, or even lead a congregation. What should have been "thought on" always ends up being "spent on". You see guys, I think there's something fundamentally wrong with this kind of thinking. It has made us as Africans totally irresponsible.

Often times we think we can just spend or fund our way out of foolishness as a nation.

It doesn't work that way. We throw money front, back, and centre at the slightest mention of problem, while basking in the euphoria that we are acting productive.

If the African dream of having a great nation like the Marvel fictitious Wakanda in Black Panther will come go reality, we must get rid of this money fallacy syndrome.

Money or funds is not always a solution to the problem.

OUR AFRICA

Momey os the problem. Everytime policicians get ot the just do dishonest things with it and then act as if it wasnt enough.

We need accountability. Jail corrupt people fire inefficient ones and add oversight.

African nations need to take a tip or 2 from chinas rise to power. They went hard and pulled their nation up by its bootstraps.

The truth of the matter is that we Nigerians aren't real and saying the truth to ourselves. Everyone has been swimming oftentimes in the pool of ethnicity, favoritism, sectionalism and above gender stereotypes. We have to step into actions and do the needful.
This is indeed very controversial and interesting.

Thank you dearly for your honesty.
I appreciate your reaction on this
