For lovers of purple
This is the development of my painting ‘Purple Hydrangea’. I have used an oil pastel and Koh-I-Noor watercolour resist technique for this piece.
Video 13 seconds long, photos of painting development with oil pastel and watercolour layers.
The process involves building up layers of oil pastel and candle wax over a dry base layer of watercolour.
I quite like this red on blue look, I may go with this next time.
I then applied layers of Koh-I-Noor watercolour, building up the darker tones with each layer. The water resists the oil and candle wax.
Folks following my posts will now know why I was complaining of purple stained hands this morning!
And finally.....the long awaited return of Steemit cat!
'Paws up for this, I love it! Follow @opheliafu for more meeeooowwwwtastic work!'

Stunning! Great work
Thank you, glad you like it.
Great, thanks as always to bring the colors from the screen through my eyes to my heart and mind.
Beautiful words.
The colors are so amazing!
Look away before they put you in a trance!
so good to see steemit cat again. did you manage to get rid of the purple staining?
Yes, I used Olive Oil soap. I've just bought back a big block from France. My hands are pretty tough, I put them through a lot of abuse!
Beautiful! And it looks like it was fun to create!
Always fun, always messy! Messy is always fun!
Wow .. the picture is very beautiful, and it was my wife's favorite color .. good job :) @opheliafu
Purple is a very regal colour. Rich and beautiful.
