Kingdom
Kingdom
Imagine you were a king
This is our palace
This is our kingdom
See our wealth?
The dusk dances across our faces
A dazzling display of dappled jewels
We command the day to make way for the night
So our kingdom can be showered in stars
A thousand lights to bathe this throne of moss and bracken
A waltzing parade of a hundred dancers
Tread lightly across the needles that line our ballroom
Winged beauties bearing masks of white feathers
Glint their golden eyes to the night sky
They tango and turn against the grey velvet dresses
Of the gentle footed
Holding with a vice like grip
And as the golden hues of morning
Send our guests to their beds
We will reflect in the quietness of the day
On the revelry of the night
This is our palace
This is our kingdom
You are a king
With a crown of foliose lichen

Funny!! Good post
When I was young my Mom would hand me a pad and pencil and tell me to lay in the grass on my back looking up at tree branches and draw what I saw. This totally brought me back to that place <3
She sound awesome! I spend a lot of time looking up at the trees (and falling over).
