The end of summer leaves

in #art9 years ago (edited)

Inspired by the green leaves of summer that will soon be turning orange and red I have created this continuous line doodle. Yesterday I showed you my continuous line work in My Green Man, you can see my continuous line drawing video in that post too.

I'm currently developing my skills of using layers in Photoshop and Gimp. I have taken one of my hand drawn line drawings and scanned it, I have then added colour. I've tried to create the effect of a screen print by allowing the colour to go over the edges of the black slightly. It's a good technique for trying out different colour variations too.

I tried it with an extra layer of orange line drawing, but I think I prefer the simpler design.

I've included a black and white drawing if you fancy printing it off and colouring it in. I've heard colouring helps with stress, personally I like a G+T with a wedge of lime. Maybe you could combine the two?

I'll show you more of this style of work as my skills develop, as well as more colouring sheets.

Art Is a great stress reliever! & great job trying to sharpen your skills with other tools...Never stop learning and growing within yourself:)

Thank you, I'm developing my illustration portfolio, so I need to bring more computer based design work into it.

OH there is no keeping up with @opehliafu. You are one prolific artist and always sharing your heart in your play. I love continuous line drawings--and even more blind contours. Perhaps one day I will share more than one post a day and put out more of my stuff like yours. Loving what you share!

Dream generator?

Mine is Greener ;)

I combined a cyanotype with mine, that's why it's so blue. I think yours looks good.

Yep, but run through the image in the middle.

That sounds pretty.

Yes
And People Here In USA
Use MUMS And Little Pumpkins

We Have Jo-anns Fabric Craft Store

Wow, sounds like a lot of effort goes into it!

Well
You have to buy a straw or
foam wreath as the platform
and then the tacks to tack the flowers
to the wreath.
It may be cheaper just to buy a wreath
Unless of course,

Ebay, and Amazon may
be best place to check them out.

Colouring seems to be a popular pastime for many. I was bowled over by the sheer amount of adult colouring books in my bookshop when i visited the other day.

Strangely enough I don't use colouring books, I have bought them for friends, but don't have time for one myself!

me neither, I brought a couple for the girls a while back, but they prefer to draw themselves or colour in my work.

Love it Ophelia keep it up!

Thank you, I'm glad you liked this post. It's a bit different from my normal posts!

Always think I can do something like this, but when I try It looks like a blob. Thank you.

Continuous line drawings are always a fun place to start when drawing.

Verrry cool, @opheliafu
I'm looking forward to seeing the magical things coming from photoshop.
I am truly inspired by your creativity. <3

Thank you. Currently I'm starting with a hand drawn image and then scanning- despite having a graphics tablet I prefer this way.

I've just recently gone out and bought a drawing book and pencils so I can doddle then hopefully come up with something better than a scribble. As for colouring in Its relaxing until I go over the line then I want to kill lol

Embrace going over the lines, break the rules!

Then it will look messy and do my head in.. think I need help lol
