Hello beautiful people. Hope you're doing amazing today. On today's episode, we will be looking into the concluding part of Understanding and Overcoming Stress.

In the previous part, we were able to define what stress is and what it means. We got to understand the types of stress that exist; acute stress which is a short term form of stress that is caused by physical emotional, and mental pressure, chronic stress which is a long term stress from lingering physical, mental or emotional pressure.

We found out that chronic stress is dangerous to our health and it results in danger to the physical, emotional and mental state.

We were able to identify some of the causes of Chronic stress which includes dwelling on the problems, lack of time/resources and finally the burden of expectations.

What are some of the symptoms and results from chronic stress?

Depression and Fear:

This is one of the main symptoms of high levels of stress, loss of interest in things that used to make you happy and when you find no joy in the little things of life like eating, sleeping and fun time with friends and family, then you know there is a challenge.

Anger and Anxiety:

Unresolved emotional issues can lead stress, lack of self love, disappointments in life and general issues of life concerning what should have been achieved and the blessings that should have been acquired.

Sickness and Poor Health:

Another terrible source of chronic stress is when the health of a person is in danger. No one can live their best life when they are not in good health, either they will worry about the cost of treatment or they will worry about the failing health, or they will worry about their inability to achieve as much as another person.

Low Standard of Living:

The lower the standards of living, the more the energy and time a person will have to exert to achieve the simple things of life. At the end of a day the living standard of someone who didn't get beat by the sun and someone who was in the sun all through would show a difference. It may not be obvious at first but as it continues, it will become obvious.

Low Self Esteem:

People who are yet to accept themselves for who they are with all they have or do not have fall into this category, they do not love themselves or parts of themselves and that put a lot of pressure on them, they want to fit it, they want to feel among. This becomes more and more evident as they interact with people and stress worsens the feelings, it will be all they can think about.

Recognize and Admit you are Stressed.

This is very key, many people do not agree they are undergoing a stressful situation, they keep lying to themselves and blaming it on everything else until they deteriorate further and it get to a point everything stresses them out. Admitting you are stressed is not a small feat. It is the first step in the right direction.

Take a Breather.

Stress thrives in activity, the more you think of stress, the more you worry, and the more you worry, the more you are stressed. So take some time to stop thinking, just go for a walk, take a long bath, find something that would make you smile.

Evaluate the Causes and Symptoms.

Identify your biggest stresses and triggers, what makes you so stressed, it is traffic? Is it money? Is it children? Evaluated and check if the symptoms like anger is prevalent in your life, even if you don't want to be stressed, the moment you get angry, stress bites down hard and you feel it.

Redirect the Energy

Stress like I said thrives on an energy frequency, when you blood pressure is heightened due to stress, you have to find ways to release the pressure. If the present is bleak, stop and think of the past, how did you overcome it? Then be grateful. Use that energy to sing, dance, play around.

By doing these, you will set yourself on the path towards maintaining not only the right attitude towards stress but also set yourself free from triggers and potential causes of pressure and stress.
