WATERS DRYING UP

in HeartChurch5 years ago

Hello family. Hope you all are doing great today. We concluded chapter seven of our study yesterday. Now lets move on to chapter eight.

8:1-2 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged. The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.

Verses one to three talk about what happened after the flood and wet land of one hundred and fifty days, God finally remembered those He kept in the ark. Verse four made us understand that the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. I remember back then in children class, this question of where the ark reated always popped up. As you can see, it is called Mount Ararat.

8:5-6 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.

Finally, the lands are getting dried up and some mountains can now be seen. Imagine how high the waters were that they even covered the mountains even as high as mountains are but thankfully they are showing up. After that, he sent forth a raven, to go about to see how the earth has become. After that Noah sent forth a dove to see if the waters were getting dried from the ground. But still, the dove couldn't find where to stay or rest and so went back to the ark because the waters were not dried up yet. Another seven days days passed and he sent out the dove. This time, the dove came back with an olive leaf in her mouth and this was a sign that the waters were getting dried already. We will continue from this verse eleven in our next lesson.

Thanks so much for reading...
