A polygraph is a device designed to discover when the person in front of us tells us a lie and when it is true

For years people wanted to know whether the person in front of them was lying to them or not. Today, using the polygraph device, we can also do so. It is a device that measures the involuntary responses of the person being questioned and determines whether the person spoke the truth or the lie. Today, the polygraph device is used for a wide range of purposes, one of the reasons for its use is in the field of business.

There are a number of reasons why a polygraph can be used for business
Hiring new employees: Many companies, especially those dealing with sensitive information and secrets that can cause extensive damage, are currently using polygraph tests to process new employees. Using this device, it is possible to assess fairly well the credibility of a potential employee and to use the test results to determine whether a particular employee is suitable for the company or not. These tests are carried out in a manner that asks both general questions and questions that are relevant to the work, and then compares the respondent's response to the two questions and answers in order to determine what answered the truth and what was false.

Periodical polygraph tests: Frequent polygraph examinations in places where confidentiality is important over time. With a periodic check, it is possible to ensure that the employees maintain credibility, since the very knowledge that a polygraph test will be carried out in the future is enough to make people not perform actions that they will have to lie about in the future. These tests are sometimes performed for all workers, and sometimes in a sample manner, depending on the reason for the test and the desired outcome from the point of view of the company's managers or the examination performers.

Internal investigations: When dealing with sensitive information, the employment clauses often include consent to cross-examination under a polygraph. In cases where it appears that there is reason to question the employees of the company in order to discover important information regarding a particular failure, polygraph tests can also be conducted during the course of the investigation. It is important to note that, in general, the results of a polygraph examination are not valid in court but only under very specific conditions, and therefore internal investigations are primarily used for internal purposes and can not subsequently be used in court.

The main problem with polygraph testing is that it is not always accurate
While a polygraph test for businesses can help us in a wide range of cases, it is important to take the test results in a limited amount. People who are too stressed out by the test or who respond differently to telling the lie or do not know that they are providing information that can not cause the test to fail and get inaccurate results. This is the reason that to date, polygraph tests are rarely considered in court, and the reason for doing so is also important in the field of business to be cautious in carrying out operations based on a polygraph test only.
