A CRY FOR NIGERIA - Can We Ever Get It Right??

in #nigeria6 years ago

I have some stats to show that our nation is on the brink.
Our past and present leaders have plunged us into unending poverty.

...When someone tells you Nigeria is a rich oil nation ,Tell the person that Nigeria is ranked last in oil revenue per capita of all OPEC nations. <$200 compared to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait with 5 figures (I can't find the exact figures at the moment).

.....Nigeria has the most people living in extreme poverty in the whole world .86.9million People are living in poverty in this country(If you're reading this and your broke, know that you're not even included)
China in 24 years 1981-2005 went from 1 b to 200 million people living in poverty. Seriously what are we doing in this country.

...Nigeria is ranked 148 (below average) in the ease of doing business indices. Power, insecurity, wrong economic policies all contributing.

....Nigeria is the eight most miserable economy in the whole world ( miserable economy is an index combining unemployment and inflation).

.....Finally Our government estimated a revenue of 5.08 trillion naira and only generated 2.71 trillion. And our president signed a budget of 9.12 trillion naira .
How the hell does he think we can get up to that amount of money.

Summary:

We are broke as a nation and we don't admit it.

Our leaders don't care, they loot even in lack.

With the current leadership and situation in this country we are not going to get better .

Even a good man without requisite quality will get lost in the arcade called Nigerian Presidency.

Get your voters card , let's TRY TO elect good leaders to lift us out of mess we have in this country.

It is so encouraging to hear your voice of reason. Your deep compassion and heartfelt urgency is conveyed well.

I cannot imagine what you describe. Nor could I offer any explanations as to a Government's failure to their people.

I hope you decide to stay and fight in your own way for the Nigerian people and not leave for a better life elsewhere. I am sure it is tempting.

With young, smart, ambitious young men like yourself, your country can prevail.
