📘 Why read books? Best friend of man!
Books are the quietest and most consistent friends; are the most accessible counselors and the most patient teachers.
~ Charles William Eliot.
Practice Makes Perfect
Malcome Gladwell, a famous Canadian journalist, developed the 10,000 Hours of Practice Rule. Gladwell stated under this rule that the best way to master a discipline is to spend 10,000 hours working or practicing.
Here are some examples:
- Mozart, before the age of 10, played the harpsichord around 20,000 hours, preparing him to be successful in his musical career.
- Bill Gates spent 10,000 hours studying computers and programming starting at the age of 13. By the time he was 19 he was ready to take his expertise and form Microsoft.
- Serena and Venus Williams practiced tennis for 2 hours each morning before school as children. By the time they spent 10,000 hours practicing they were ready to compete in Wimbledon as teenagers.
If you follow Gladwell's theory it is estimated that you need to practice 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, to reach 10,000 hours in 2 years if you want to become an expert at a field as fast as possible.
Practice, Along with Knowledge, Is The Key To Success
Practicing a discipline is great, but it will not make you a professional by itself. Practice should be supplemented with the wisdom and knowledge of people who have already succeeded in the field you want to become an expert in. Practice does not make you perfect. Practice and education make you perfect.
What would have happened to the Williams sisters if they hadn't played tennis every morning? They would have never learned how to hold a tennis racket. The would have never learned how to know which hand gives more stability to hit the ball when serving. Not only did Serena and Venus practice but they also sought out coaches to mentor them. The practice, dedication, and theory of coaches helped the Williams sisters progress and succeed in their tennis careers.
The Importance of Books In Being Successful
READING has infinite benefits. It helps develop culture, generates ideas, increases awareness, increases your vocabulary and knowledge, and helps you reach your goals faster. Books are wonderful tools to help you gain knowledge to become an expert in your desired field. Seeking out human tutors is wonderful but books can also serve as mentors.
To start, find several books and start building a library of books that will help you learn the knowledge you need for the field you are interested in becoming an expert. People who are successful share their knowledge with others in books so you can learn from their experiences how to be successful. With books you can have hundreds of tutors in a library of books.
Books are silent friends who are always there for you when you need consultation. Books are great resources that are easy to access and are patient teachers. You can seek answers in them again and again without fear of being scolded or annoyed because you do not understand.
It's Easy To Start Reading And You Don't Have to Go Broke
If you don't have the money to purchase books there are many ways to obtain knowledge through reading. Libraries and book borrowing programs allow you to access books for free as long as you return the books you borrow. Online you can find ebook borrowing programs or even free ebooks to help you build your library.
If you have the ability to purchase books then there are many inexpensive options for buying them. Used books are often resold more cheaply than new books. Yard sales, charity book sales, online sites like craigslist, and more sell used books for affordable prices.
Building a library of "teachers", can help guide you in reaching your goals. Knowledge along with practice can help make you an expert. Do what you need to do to succeed and your progress will increase by leaps and bounds!

Books are great. The best part is that if you're interested in a subject, there's a book about it. If you want to read someone's ideas about the future, there are books about that. Anything, really. You can find a book about it.
I tend to switch back and forth between fiction and nonfiction, and I found out that it's easier than ever to obtain cheap ebooks now that I have a Kindle. The library is also a great place to go, especially since you can check out books electronically now.
Great thoughts on the subject. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks friend for your comment, I also spent most of the time reading eBooks, it is the best way to find the book that you like, although it is also good to have it in real
Yes. There's really no substitute for sitting down and opening up a good book. I've tried to amass a good sized library of my own. It's one of my life goals to actually read all of the books I own. I don't know if that will ever happen, but I hope to always make a point to read whenever I have a chance.
Thank you for sharing!
