Good day steemians.

Today I read about a weird creature, the axolotl( pronounced ACK suh LAH tuhl) an endangered Mexican salamander, that retains tadpole like characteristics throughout it's life. Philosophers have used axolotl to describe someone who fears growth.

In Christendom today there are lots of Christians who have refused to grow being content with just spiritual milk meant for new believers(Hebrews 5:11-14). They fear growing spiritually to avoid persecution and responsibilities.
As a believer we are spiritually engineered to grow, that was God's intended plan for us, to unravel deep mysteries of Himself(God) and by unveiling these mysteries our faith in Him(God) is developed.

A lot of believers want to be spoon fed all through their lives with just spiritual milk, milk is for babes, a matured christian takes solid food, that will help in grow stronger and to withstand certain travails. In my church there are lots of believers who still depend on the pastor for daily doze of prayers and scriptures, I spoke to them that its a sign of immaturity in the faith, How can someone say he/she is a believer for many years and is not able to stand spiritually on his/her own? This proves the theory that spiritual growth or maturity is not directly proportional to how many years a person has been in the faith. I've seen believers for 20 years with just basic knowledge of the bible. They have refused to grow.

Axolotls follow the natural pattern set for them by their creator(God). But followers of Christ are designed to grow into spiritual maturity. As we do, we discover that growing up in Him involves more than our own peace and joy. Growth in His(God) likeness honors Him(God) as we unselfishly encourage others.
