Since the deadly incident about 2 1/2 years ago, where law enforcement officers, likely under the direction of the FBI, shot and killed Robert "LaVoy" Finicum. The incident involves Oregon citizens whom took over the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in protest of the Hammonds being arrested for arson on federal property. The BLM decided to cited the Hammonds with arson when their controlled burn spread to federal land.
The Hammond's plight was taken up by the Bundy's whom were also charged by the BLM. It lead to an armed standoff where the refuge was occupied by the protesters. As reported, Finicum was part of the protesting group and he was allegedly shot and killed by swat police. Up to now, the responsible officers have been unnamed as the involved government departments believed that naming them would lead to attempts made on their lives.
During the recent trial of Joseph Astarita, the FBI agent whom was indicted for obstruction of justice and making false statements, a witness slipped and referred to one of the allegedly responsible officers by name.
As usual, it takes some time but eventually all facts become known. It is so pathetic when any government or law enforcement agency profess that they are transparent.
