#Ulog (Day 3): My Encounter with an Unhappy Customer

I know today is Sunday and I'm supposed to rest and all, but sometimes, when I have a heavy workload, I throw the doors of my shop open for a few hours. Today was one of such days.

I didn't go to church, so had a lot of time to make and complete the dress of a customer who had been on my neck. When I was done, I put a call through to her and she came over in less than two hours.

She took one look at the dress and from her expression I knew she didn't like it.

Okay, I have been in garment making for 12 years and make beautiful clothes with lots of happy customers, but once in a while you get that customer who doesn't like your work, no matter what.

She tried on the dress in the changing room and when she came out, she still had that stony look.

You came highly recommended but you should have told me you didn't know how to make this style.

Was what she said.

The style she had on was the exact one she'd described to me a little over a week ago, but I refrained from saying anything. I have a policy never to argue with customers as I believe they are always right.

Instead, I tried to calm her down while quietly explaining to her this was the style she picked.

Are you calling me a liar! Am I a child not to recognize a style I picked!

She was getting angry and I decided to back pedal. In the end I was able to calm her down after promising to do some alterations to the dress.

She left a little pacified while I sat for a few minutes wondering what on earth I would add to the dress to beautify it.

Here's the dress in question

So I just decided I'm going to add a little bow in front and a larger one at the back like you have on this baby dress I made some days back

Hopefully she gets to like the dress after these additions as I would love to retain her as a customer.
