ARRANGED MARRIAGES ON THE HOMESTEAD
We do it for the offspring.
The way we figure it, most of our sheep and goats should already be bred, but just in case any got missed, we swapped around all of our sheep and goats to arrange a few "marriages."
This video is basically a shuffling of animals, but the cool thing is how easy it becomes when you've got as many little helpers as we do. Enjoy it!

I love that your kids all come to help, its so much easier to move the animals when you have more than one person doing it, especially when it comes to getting them through the gates. :D The names for each of them are so cute, I think "Rollerskates" is my favorite name that I've heard so far. :D
Hopefully they'll all be bred and you'll get some adorable new kids to share with us all in the spring. :D

"Rollerskates" is actually an interesting story. I named her that because she used to just have one big dreadlock on top of her head, which reminded me of David Hinds of Steel Pulse.
He's the one standing up on the right, with the giant dread on top of his head. Anyway, that's kind of what her "hair" looked like, hence the resemblance.
The song above is "Rollerskates" which is one of their more wellknown songs, and that's how she got her name. When we shear her wool, we leave a dread or two up top as a tribute.
Awe, that is so cool. :D Here I thought it was because she moved like she was on roller skates, man I miss rollerskating. :D
I hadn't heard of Steel Pulse before but I have to admit I enjoyed their song "Rollerskates", nice beat, it had me be-bopping as I listened to it and wrote this reply, I'll have to look for more of their music. :D Thanks for sharing. :D

I'm a bit behind with the reactions as you can see, if you're still reading a month ago lol but i try to catch up, shame on me as i certainly have more time than money but sometimes i feel its just best to stay quiet in conversation and shout into the void (although the void is pretty public here hahah)
Since you're one of the first advocates of steemit here to catch my attention when i got on i'm sure you already know but i just saw they finally plan to accept advertising money. I think 2019-20 might still grow into some really beneficial rewarding time for time spent on here but
maybe you'll agree,
if you just "do what you do" its hard to burn out and practically impossible to get bored with it :) even if being oneself isnt always the most logical course of action i think it's in most cases the preferred one or you're left doubting yourself by the end of the day, right.
I said it before and no mistake, i dont have jealousy in me really but i truly admire your lifestyle and the way you and yours take care of each other.
Maybe we should gather a pack and start saving for a new planet to move to, far away from the old gold king and the crumbling world full of people living in the past :)

With the "rotation" of the males looks like you should be able to get a good variety of genes. Don't need no mutant goats roaming around!
