JUST ONE MORE GOAT PAPA, JUST ONE MORE GOAT
What else do you get as a gift for your lovely #homesteading wife?
@Mama-pepper has some great ideas and enjoy the life that we have chosen. Recently, she has been caught repeatedly expressing the desire to have another goat. Well, I like to take care of my wife, so out we went yesterday to get her a little goat.
BEST PICK A GOOD ONE!
A friend of mine has an excellent selection of kids this year. He used to primarily breed Boer goats, but now has a Kiko sire, because that breed is more disease resistant. Also his Kiko buck is a beautiful gray-blue color, a trait that was passed onto three of his offspring this year.
The @little-peppers were excited about this opportunity, so the biggest four of our children came along with me to "help" pick one out. They love animals anyway, and young animals are the cutest!
The kids were as curious about the @little-peppers as the @little-peppers were about them. Here a few of our children are enjoying attempting to make friends with these little goats.
@Mama-pepper wanted another doe to breed in the future, so we were looking through our options. A lot of the kids here were males, and many had some beautiful colors, so thankfully having less options with the females, which made our job easier.
In the end we picked one that looked her father, that has this lustrous grey coat. It's a good looking doe and friendly enough. Here's Sweet-Pepper enjoying some goat time on the ride home.
Normally people quarantine any new animals that they bring to their homestead. This man lives right up the street and we visit him and his wife rather regularly, so I'm not too concerned about diseases. That said, we brought "Of" and "The" over to keep her company.
Here's a nice photo of her. The @little-pepper wanted to name her "Frontier" while @Mama-pepper wanted to call her "Blueberry." Technically, her dad's name is "Blue," so that second option could be rather fitting. What do you think? What would be a good name for her? We are still discussing options over here, so any input will be considered. Thanks!
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

You could call her Blue 2! :D
Goats healthy, this looks very good.Very much like me with cattle like this.
"Blueberry" seems poetic and suitable for him

“Blueberry” will go well with her. Nice experience @papa-pepper
