Okay, NOW I'm SCARED!!!
Maybe just a little bit anyway...
Honestly, I'm supposed to be scared too. This opossum was raised by our family along with a few others, but we did NOT try to make everlasting friends with any of them. We wanted to be able to release them and have them live a wild life, as God intended. Apparently, that has been achieved.
On an almost nightly basis we can see one or two on our land, and while they are "friendly-ish" sometimes, they do want to be left alone and have their defense mechanisms for sure. These quick photos will testify that this particular little opossum joey is wild indeed! Enjoy!

I find animal instinct amazing. Even when raised by humans that "programming" kicks in. I raised an f6 Bengal (cat) and he had several wild behaviors even though he always lived inside. I find our genetic code just amazing. We come into the world re-programmed. Another reason not to mess with DNA.
