Season 1 of the STEEM-Apocalypse Survival Game Contest was certainly a hit. In total, 26 steemians banded together to forth 13 teams last time and, in the end, one winner took home 325 STEEM. For all those who are interested, now is the time to sign up!

To sign up, simply reply below and express your desire. Teams of two will be formed prior to gameplay, so if you have a friend who is interested as well, form a team of the two of you and sign up together. If you do not know someone who is interested, we will work on getting you a partner, so don’t worry. It may be a chance to meet a new friend or to further develop an existing relationship.

Also, each team will have the opportunity to create their own unique team name as well. Once the teams are formed, please let me know what to call your team.

TEAM RESPONSIBILITY

I will attempt to make one post per day. Near the end of each post will be a “TEAM RESPONSIBILTY” section. In this section, I will give instruction to each of the teams about their options and how to proceed. If your time is limited, just check this section and reply to the post each day.

Each team will be required to reply within 24 hours of each post. To continue to move the gameplay forward, I will try to post once per day. Since each post will provide options for the teams to choose from, team response is crucial. I understand that not everyone will be available every day to respond to each post, which is part of why I have two person teams. Since each team will need to respond, either team member can represent the team when making decisions. Therefore, technically, only one team member needs to be available on a daily basis.

Ideally, your team would be a combination of two steemians who are active on steemit on a daily basis. If this is not the case for you, perhaps this game will give you the incentive to at least check in on a daily basis.

In the event that it is time for the next round to begin and a team has not yet responded, I will either flip a coin or roll a die to determine how that team will proceed in gameplay. I would rather not just roll the dice for your team in a life and death survival situation, but, I will if need be.

Please try to respond every day so I don’t accidentally kill your team with the flip of a coin.

GAMEPLAY SETTING

For Season 2 of the STEEM-Apocalypse Survival Game Contest, our teams will start out in an American city that is in disarray. The elites had spent centuries attempting to condition people to choose to leave the land and move to the cities. Through government education they attempted to program the masses into being mindless workers who would spend their lives working hard at their jobs so they could afford to pay their taxes and the ever-increasing bills and waste whatever time they had leftover on mindless, distracted entertainment to prevent them from thinking deeply or critically.

By shifting the culture away from property ownership and into debt, the elite were successful into creating a dependent citizenship. Everything that the people needed had to be provided by others. They had nothing of their own, and were required to pay for everything. From the heat to warm their families in the winter to the food to feed them, people became completely dependent.

Then, the time came that the elite decided that their trap was fully set. To execute their population reduction plan, they needed only to pull the plug, and so they did. The power grid was shut down and the world entered into darkness.

By the end of the first month, the population was reduced to just a fraction. Chaos and desperation had taken over. Starving and unprepared, people had begun to loot all that they could and kill one another over the smallest items or disagreements. Millions died when their pharmaceutical supply ran out. Sewers overflowed and cities were set ablaze. Almost overnight, it had become a violent kill or be killed world.

This is the situation in which the teams find themselves. It has been just over a month since the power went out, and the teams have been hiding out in the city. The particular city is in the heart of America. Supposedly, the elite have all pretty fled to an underground bunker built under the Rocky Mountains. There they are awaiting the further reduction of the world population prior to resurfacing with much force and firepower to once again rule the world.

Rumor has it that another bunker is located much closer, but due to some official decisions, none of the elite fled there. If things get too bad in what is left of the city, your team will attempt to flee and make your way through the wilderness in an attempt to locate this well stocked hideout. Your main goal is to simply eat and stay alive.

GENERAL GAMEPLAY

Each day @papa-pepper will try to put up a post containing some new portion of the storyline with at least two options of how to proceed. Again, since this is a survival game, some options given will be deadly. Teams that choose the “wrong” options will perish while the others continue on to the next round of gameplay.

The rounds will vary from food opportunities, real life survival situations, and random scenarios. There will be two round per gameplay day, and at least one of them will be a food opportunity. Each team must eat at least once every two days or they will starve to death. Not every option given during food opportunity rounds will result in eating. Some options will result in death.

The teams will have to try to stay fed and stay alive, attempting to outlast all other teams in order to win this season. Sign up below and let’s get those teams formed! Season 2 will officially begin sometime in the next 48 hours!

The prize pool with start at 100 STEEM. Also, I will rebrand this contest as "STEEM-Pocalypse" for the time being and I will be using that as my main tag for this season. Thanks!
