THE BUTTERFLY - LET'S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
They aren't always up to what you think!
Throughout the day on our homestead you can observe a lot of different animals, including many species of butterflies. I'm assuming that years ago butterflies must have ran quite a PR campaign, because most people associate them with flowers. However, we frequently see them land on animal feces as well. Have you even witnessed a butterfly intentionally landing on a dog turd and proceeding to join in the flies? We sure have.
Anyway, I'm not sure why I thought about that, but perhaps it was just because these photos lack a flower, while they still show off a butterfly. This particular one was rather cooperative too, and let me creep in pretty close with the camera. Enjoy the photos!

Um...yes I more think of butterflies being on flowers rather than poop!
