THEY JUST DON'T GET IT...

in GEMS3 years ago

But I'd rather have them take a dust bath over a dirt nap!

I put up a small fence in front of our porch, around a tree. The reason was that I had planted a variety of bulbs there. I didn't want the sheep eating the plants, or the chickens digging them up. Unfortunately, the chicks can still sneak through the fence, so they use the loose soil in between the plants to take dust baths. It's part of how they keep themselves clean and deter parasites, so we allow it. Enjoy the pics!

Yeah, that's absolutely true.
Their dust bath was very nice.
Once they come out of there, it will look clean and shiny.

Wow so beautiful! Your camera work just aewsome.Your posts are always awesome. I enjoyed it very much. Please keep it up.

Your chickens look like the chickens here. You have a lot of chickens. The pictures are impossibly beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Your chickens thought you made a bathtub for them, so they are enjoying , having bath . If you didn’t make fence, they were not interested it, seeing this fence , they thought something special things made for them.

I enjoyed your chickens photographs, thanks to share.

It's better to make a secured fence so that chickens can't go out and eat your crops. The chicks, on the other hand, are okay not to fence because they can't damage the crops, they are still young and small. tnx for sharing!

Awesome chicken pics!

I have always seen chicks take this dust bath and kinda wondered why they did that, never knew it had some advantages.
