Heritage Day Old Car Festival. Part 1.
We were invited to a local airfield for the car festival!
And as usual we arrived early, even before most of the cars had arrived.
My plan is, depending upon the support for this post, to place an old car post every day over the next 3 days. This one is the first and at the end of each post I will feature a special section about one car and its history.
I have taken photos of about 80 old cars at the festival and have selected only a few to place in each post.
If you have a special car that you want to see, please ask me in the comments below and I will send you a picture of the car. That is if it was at the show.
Here we have the early arrivals. From left to right a Chevrolet, a Zodiac and 3 Sunbeams.
As you can see it was a lovely clear day at the airfield festival.
Slowly the cars started arriving and this is another old Chevrolet!
A grand old Austin coming in!
Suddenly cars started coming in from all over, here is another MG like the one in the first picture!
Special Section!
An old truck and its history!
The Fargo Express manufactured in 1929!
Wow! Look at that neat old front end!
How many trucks drive around with a copper fire extinguisher attached!
Would they use the fuel inside this tank to start the truck?
And finally the sparse and basic interior of the driving cabin!
History of the Fargo 1927 Truck!
"The first Fargo trucks were built in Pilsen, Chicago by the Fargo Motor Car Company from 1913 until 1922. In 1928 Chrysler bought the business and created their own line of Fargo trucks. Shortly after its creation, Chrysler also bought the Dodge Brothers Company, adding Dodge and Graham Brothers badged trucks to its product line. From then on, Fargo trucks were almost identical to Dodge models, save for trim and name, and were sold by Chrysler-Plymouth dealers.
U.S. sales of Fargo trucks were discontinued in the 1930s, but in Canada the name Fargo was used until 1972 for marketing reasons to differentiate the trucks as Chrysler-Plymouth dealer offerings apart from the Dodge trucks sold at Dodge dealers"

And there you have it, the first post in a 3 part series and I really hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.
In tomorrows post I will feature the Jaguar that won the famous 1953 Le Mans 24 hour race. You are welcome to Google this famous historic race and you may be surprised that one of the cars in that race was sold for $20 million.
We also had a puppy pit at the festival for the small children to play with the puppies and barbeque fires were going all over the place.
I was basically there for the cars and as soon as the place began to get crowded we were out of there.

I love the old Fargo!!! There is something so very cool looking about a car that still runs and is older than dirt. :)
I could look at these all day long and you really pulled up some great ones and history to boot!
Thank you so much and you totally can do this every day~!!Be blessed, my friend!

I am not much of a "car person" myself in that I have something very basic and affordable for my personal use, but I do love seeing these vintage rides! There's just something fun about the history of the automobile. I think my favorite in this one might have to be the Austin. I bet that's a fun one to take for a drive, especially on a day that looks that gorgeous!
Thank you and I also drive something small and dependable, but like most males old cars are in my blood and I simply love the old stylish designs.
Been inside some stately old ones and it's an unreal experience, as they float on the roads like ships. The throb of the huge motors is also a constant reminder about how powerful they are.
The old English Austin is indeed a neat little package.
Blessings!
Ohhhhh my. I have a serious lust for old trucks, and that is a beauty! When I was a youngster we had 2 '39 chevs. A pickup and a one ton that had been converted to a lift truck.
I love that first MG. A TD? I've been fortunate to work with a couple of 'older' MGs, but nothing on the level of that TD. I got to ride in one, it's as close as I've gotten.
I am seriously looking forward to the next two editions!
Thank you Sir and the next edition will have a closer look at the TDs. There was also a different MG, twin-cam model that will be in the 3rd part. Plus the two bikes of course.
Blessings!
Such cool classic cars that must have been an amazing event to visit
Thank you JJ and it was indeed so amazing to see all of the old cars coming in. A real feast of cars.
Blessings!
Ohh yeah a real feast indeed
Cheers
Neat cars! I really like the trucks; I much prefer them over the cars. The inside of them is pretty neat too!
Thank you and sadly there was only this one truck at the show.
But what a truck it is!
Blessings!
