Here is the weekly Gridcoin (GRC) earnings update for whitelisted projects.

The information is extracted from the Gridcoin Network Oracle, BOINCStats and CoinMarketCap based on which the earnings in GRC and USD are calculated for systems with a RAC of 1000. Further details can be found below in the definitions section.

Project crunchers

Currently we have 1823 accounts with a valid beacon to earn Gridcoin, which is an increase of 39 accounts (+2.19%) since last week.

Project whitelist status update

There haven’t been changes to the number of whitelisted projects last week, this means you can earn Gridcoin crunching 18 BOINC projects.

Definitions

  • Gridcoin Network RAC = The total RAC of all systems on the Gridcoin network for the project.
  • Gridcoion Network RAC vs Overall RAC % = The proportion of RAC the Gridcoin network has contributed as part of the overall RAC for the project.
  • GRC per 1k system RAC = The amount of GRC you will receive for a system per 1000 RAC. Example: You have a system which is running Rosetta@home with a RAC of 3500. According to the chart on 30-Sep, you should gain 3.5 x 0.44 GRC = 1.54 GRC per day for this system.
  • USD per 1k system RAC = The amount of USD you will receive for a system per 1000 RAC. Example: You have a system which is running Cosmology@home with a RAC of 4700. According to the chart on 30-Sep, you should gain 4.7 x $0.00284= $0.013 per day for this system.

Gridcoin is an open source cryptocurrency (Ticker: GRC) which securely rewards volunteer computing performed upon the BOINC platform in a decentralized manner on top of proof of stake.

BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is a distributed Internet platform launched beginning of 2002 and rewards participants with credits for performed work. BOINC is an application available for multiple Operating Systems and utilises the unused CPU and GPU cycles on computers to perform scientific work.

If there are 1800 accounts in total...Doesn't seem like the staking is always done by same little set of users? Its been years for me here and staked 3 times...meanwhile, theres been thousands and thousands of blocks staked by whom?:)

Staking is performed based on your wallet size so the accounts with the a lot of GRC will have staked more often.

All this I know. What I am trying to say, most of stakes are done by a very reduced number of users, owning majority of coins.
