"When the compass fails"
He was an explorer of high experience and among his instruments of adventure, of course, his compass never failed. Until a day when everything seemed more abrupt than ever, rugged and full of dangers.
Looking around he found himself lost, on some hillside that he had never known before. Faced with such confusion, he sought as always his guiding instrument that had never failed him. However, to his surprise, something happened. His beloved compass was completely de-calibrated, its needles pointed to various places at the same time giving uncertain directions.
Determined before that situation, he unloaded his luggage, and putting everything on a rock, he did everything he could to reach and know how to calibrate his valuable compass. Anguished, already in the middle of the night, he found himself without a north and without a south, without direction and without destiny. Looking at the stars, he began to let himself be guided by them. He remembered the words of a wise teacher:
"When you run out of direction, do not forget to look at the sky. When you have lost everything, your help will come from above. "
And we cry and cry out, like someone who tries to calibrate continuously what has been altered and that no longer fulfills its function, hoping in this way to return to the north that we have somehow lost. And we remember what we learned at some point: knowing ourselves without direction, we raise our eyes in search of the biggest of the stars, that in the midst of so much darkness we reach a safe destination.
In these circumstances nothing will be worth the experience and expertise achieved in various areas, and not even have the best tools or an instrument to tell us the address. Only in the light of God's message will we be safe, guided by safe places, even when our mind and heart have been left without guidance.
Amen, I pray and will always pray that God will be the compass of my life to always direct me in every situation, that is my prayer
