SEC19 W1: "This is my style"

Good day my fellow steem ladies
How nice it is to write in your community once again.
Thanks to the organizers of this contest.

Considering the theme of this contest- my style, I would like to say I have many styles but not fashion anyway.

There are so many things I love doing from general cleaning of my environment to self, meeting people and all that.
But the particular one I want to talk about is my style of reading.

Hmmm this has taken me down the memory lane back in my secondary School days when I loved reading literature books courtesy of my literature teacher back then Mr Ntuk. This man will take time to tell the story and you visualize it.
He made us to know as literature students that we rule our world and that science students are loosing not reading what is happening around them.
Though he has taught us so many books from African to non African texts both drama and prose.
We have read Chinua Achebe's arrow of God, Shakespeare's Macbeth and so on .
So today I am going to talk about Macbeth because the whole drama still remains fresh in my memory because he organized a Cinema back then for us to watch it. It was in the school hall and we wept at man's wickedness towards man.

Macbeth is one of Shakespeare's most iconic and haunting tragedies.
Macbeth is a Scottish nobleman and a general who is driven by ambition and the prophecies of three witches. He murders King Duncan and seizes the throne, but his reign is marked by guilt, paranoia, and violence., exactly what is going on today., gaining the throne through blood shed

Lady Macbeth his wife plays a crucial role in the story, just as today's women would, being a driving force behind Macbeth's actions and encouraged her husband to kill king Duncan right in their own house as their honoured guest. She is a woman with a complex character and likened the killing of Duncan to a sucking baby that she will pluck off her toothless gum from her breast and dash out her brain while she was still sucking.
What a devil !

She was so driven by the ambition and a desire for power to become a queen because of the three witches prophecy,pushing Macbeth to take action
She was such a wicked woman that she strategized how the murder will be carried out. Hmmm , I fear my gender for plans and execution. She showcased
feminine strength and influence in a patriarchal society.

Lady Macbeth represents the darkness, guilt, and consequences that Macbeth's actions unleash. She made the husband believe so much in the witches prophecy.
After the killing of King Duncan and the guard in his room while sleeping and she was just imagining the blood stains in her hand and she said "All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hands".
She regretted killing King Duncan and then struggles with anxiety, guilt, and ultimately descending into madness and suicide. She died sleep walking on the street.What a shame !

As a literature student, your story will not be complete without talking about the theme.
So let's look at some themes I can remember:
The dangers of unchecked ambition where Macbeth totally believed in the witches prophecy without a second thought
The consequences of sin and guilt as lady Macbeth ended woefully.
-The complexities of gender roles and power dynamics- her ambition to become a queen by all means.

Conclusion

This is how my far I can remember but I still can't forget how Bernam wood moved to Dunsinane hill thus the witches tricked Macbeth that the forest will truely move leading him to destruction.
