Can I win a Steemit Engagement Challenge?

in Steem For Ladieslast year (edited)

YES! You can be a winner!

My Steemian friends,

I wish I had one STEEM for each time I was ask this question in the last week. It would have put me closer to my next dolphin.

Today marks the start of the last week of Season 13, and I want to help you make the most of your posts this week.

YES!
You can win a Steemit Engagement Challenge, provided that;

  1. You have an entry
  2. That you adhere to the rules of the contest
  3. You engaged with the posts of your fellow Steemians

image.png

It is required of you to write a good-quality post of at least 350 words.

This sounds easy enough, but I can promise you that it is not. These contests are not like your normal contests, where you only get a handful of entries. No, you have to compete with plenty of other Steemians. A good-quality post of 350 words alone is not going to give you that win.

The quality of your post should extend beyond just the words in it.

What do I mean by quality?

Your post must look good

The first thing most readers do is skim through your post. If your post doesn’t look good, they will not risk their time reading it. The trick is to catch those eyes with your images and then keep them on your post.

You have to pay attention to the following:

• The design of your post
• Good-quality images
• A catchy introduction to your post
• Short paragraphs
• Good markdown style
• Quotes that stand out
• Making use of bullet points and lists

The most important factor in a post is the heading or title. In the Steemit Engagement Challenge, the communities will tell you what heading to use, which leaves you with one less thing to worry about.

The next thing is the introduction. You will never see any of my posts in which I ask the readers how they are or tell them how happy I am for taking part in a contest. I can tell you that the majority of posts start in this manner.

Why do you want to be the same as the majority?

If you don’t know how to write a good introduction, make sure you read How to write a good introduction post

Your post must be well-written and unique

Not all of us are born writers, but we can all learn how to write well. If you can learn to ride a bicycle, you can learn how to write.

The best way to learn is to take a magazine and read through it. Not only will you see different layouts, but you can also compare the work of different journalists and how they write to engage their audience.

I’ve witnessed the improvement of the posts of many Steemians just because they were willing to learn.

I’ve also seen plenty of posts where Steemians research a topic from various sites, which they then try to squeeze into one single post. For me, this is not adding value to the topic. You have to make the post your own and be unique.

• Pick a different format than anyone else
• Say something that has not been said before
• Find a new angle
• Explain what is required in your own words
• If you have to answer questions, rephrase them
• Tell your story!

If you can manage to do the above, I can guarantee you that your post will stand out from the rest and you will have a better chance of being noticed.

Oh yes, don't forget to check your post for spelling mistakes, punctuations, etc.

Rules are there for protection, not only for the participating community’s protection but also for all of you who enter those contests.

The rules in Steemit Engagement, Season 13 are clear.

  • There is a set time for entering. From 00:00 UTC, Monday, to 00:59 pm UTC, on Sunday
  • There are seven contests, but you can only enter one a day
  • Your post needs to receive at least 10 upvotes
  • Your post needs to receive at least 5 relevant and proper comments
  • You must be in #club5050, #club75 or #club100
  • You must adhere to the rules of each individual contest

The most common mistakes I have seen are with users not following the rules of the individual contests. Check before you start your post if you can tick all the rules, and check again before you push that post button that you have followed all the rules.

Steemians, it is an engagement challenge therefore, you have to engage with the posts of your fellow Steemians.

At the end of each weekly contest all seven Challenge communities should make a post on their community account announcing the three people who have demonstrated the most engagement in their weekly contest both through the quality of their contest post and the quantity and quality of their comments on other people’s contest posts.

It seems that there is a lot of confusion regarding the nomination of best posts. I want to clarify one thing: it is not the Steemian who made the most comments that will be nominated.

We will leave it to each community to decide how they select their weekly winners

Not all of us have the time to sit the whole day commenting on posts; therefore, it is only fair that everything is taken into consideration.

  • The quality and uniqueness of the post
  • The engagement with the post (10 upvotes and 5 quality comments)
  • The active involvement of the author with the posts of his fellow Steemians

It breaks my heart when I see good posts and the author cannot be rewarded due to him not receiving the required votes or comments on his post or with him not engaging with the posts of other Steemians.

I am sharing two tools whereby you can track your engagement on the Steemit platform.
https://steemseven.com/seven/
https://www.steempro.com/community-report

Pay respect with respect!
If someone comments on your post, be decent enough to comment back. Just last week, we had Steemian, who commented on more than sixty posts, and on his post, he only received four.

It is time to roll up your sleeves, write those excellent posts, and vote and comment on the posts of your fellow Steemians!

You can do it and you can be a winner!

Goody! With all the learning, you will be an expert soon!
What I appreciate is when Steemians take advice and act accordingly. It saddens me when I see they don't take advice to heart.
I am no expert myself, but I promise you that I can tell you what works and what doesn't.
Good luck for the next contest!

That's indeed a food for thought, I see myself getting better and better after all, its time to get to work!

Thanks for the additional insights on how to make it too for the steemit challenge. It requires a lot of consistency, originality, creativity and patience. Right from the beginning it is said steemit is not for lazy people and so one must work hard to make it to the top.

It breaks my heart when I see good posts and the author cannot be rewarded due to him not receiving the required votes or comments on his post.

I have seen and faced this too which made me feel discouraged sometimes and not want to continue but I just keep on making the posts. It is actually difficult to sit all day engaging but sometimes I would engage but nothing. I still not lose hope. It's not easy but we keep trying.

Thanks a lot

Oh yes! You have nailed it with these words.
I do hope that I have given you enough to be a winner soon in one of these contests. I have told you before that you are talented.
Of importance. Be different, engage, and don't give up!

Hola querida y bella patjwell

Hello!
It is wonderful to see a comment from you. Not to mention the kind words. Thank you!🎕
You are right; it is indeed good to be reminded to get back to the basics again.
So often, we miss the true meaning of "paying it forward" on Steemit. If we can just all do that, I am sure the words will double!

Thank you, and blessings to you and the family also.

Mil gracias
