March 2018 is when I got on this platform. At the time STEEM was at $4.00. Ok, I thought, this is a really great idea. As I have explored, commented and became a member of this community, I have had a lot of pushback from those that dont understand this idea of DECENTRALIZATION.

When I explain it to them, my friends, they look at me as if Im being scammed in a MLM or pyramid scheme. I have countless times explained thats not what this is. This is crypto and the future of social media. They just dont get it. Thats Ok, I tell myself, but deep down I have my doubts.

Since I have joined, i have invested about $40.00 of fiat into this. Have I made money? NO. Im starting to question my little $40 into this. However, there is no going back. I want this to work. I want this so bad, that I have come to the understanding, its gonna work.

Decentralized networks are gonna be the future because the system in place doesnt work for the people. When corporations decide the fate of humanity is the day people have become the corporation. I think we as a people of the world recognize this but havent accepted it. Feelings are not fact. Fact is evidence of those convictions.

Crypto is a scam to those that dont understand it. However, those that have great influence in the community have a responsibility to help make it grow. There are always those in power that abuse and exploit that power. Its only human to react in this manner.

In order for STEEM to work the community and those that have the power to influence it, need to distribute that power freely and with humility. If the community is working towards the same goal of absolute freedom, then we need to use our freedoms with accountability and respect.

I personally want this to work. I want people to have that equality. I want the whales and dolphins to help the minnows. I think as a community this is how we will survive. Crypto is a very shady idea to those not involved. We have a responsibility to make sure it doesnt become exactly what we are going against. How do we make decentralized networks popular, if people abuse it? How do we all get to the same goal?
