There are different types of invention that has helped shapen the world since modernization began and I will list but a few.

AIRPLANE

---

An Airplane according to Webster Dictionary is a machine that has wings and an engine, and that flies through the air.

There are different types of Airplanes

These are few of them:

• Jets
• Helicopters
• Fighter Airplane
• Jumbo Jets
• Military Airplane
• Concorde
• Water bomber
• Maritime Patrol
• Airbus

Among other inventors, Wilbur and Orville Wright also known as the Wright brothers are said to have invented the first successful Airplane on December 17, 1903.

Before the invention of Airplanes, moving from one country or place to another took very long. Weeks and months on Water, or by road. During that time they made use of modes of transportation such as Camel 🐪, Horse, Trains, and Boats.

After this superb invention, traveling or moving from one place to another has become faster and more comfortable.

Airplanes has now been modified to be able to accommodate more people, unlike when it was first invented.

Just like we have different types of Airplane, there are also different uses because each model of Airplane has its own purpose.

Jumbo Jets

Are used for long hauls and long trips.

They are meant for surveillance, transport or an attack.

As the name implies, it is used to destroy the enemies Airplane in the air. This Airplane is mainly used for combat and it is capable of carrying lots of weapons.

1. Airplanes has facilitated Tourism. Now tourists can move from one place/country to another smoothly and easily.

2. It has aided in trades from one country to another thereby aiding in economic growth.

3. It has improved standards of living.

4. It has created job opportunities for many.

5. It enables a rapid response when disasters occur, like during Earthquakes, Floods, Accidents, Famine, e.t.c.

6. It alleviates poverty.

Harmful effects of Airplane to the Environment

1. Contrails that leads to global warming.

2. It pollutes the area with noise. Though the noise from an airplane is short lived, nevertheless , those living or near airports are affected hugely by the noise.
   Some of the impact of this noise on people are sleeping disturbances, cardiovascular and psycho-psychological effects, interference with communication and performance effects.

3. It emits greenhouse gases
   Airplanes engines combust fuel to emit carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, water vapor, soot, and carbon monoxide. Nitrogen oxides emitted by airplanes contribute greatly to global warming.

Science inventions has really made life easy and comfortable. Things are now achieved with ease unlike before. And all these inventions play great roles in the world today.
