It was all victory for the super eagles of nigera agaist egypt.
The best I have watched in AFCON so far is the match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Pharaoh of Egypt. It seems to be the best Africans have also watched since the beginning of the AFCON tournament. The fantastic play was felt both at home and abroad. At first glance of the Egyptians line up, it was like they were no match for the Nigerians Squad yet the Nigerian side were determine to prove that black skin are more stronger than other skin. The agility and prowess displayed by the giants of Africa was an attestation to this fact. Today despite the Egyptians having a scoring machine (Salah) on their side the fell face flat at the Stade Roumde Adjia just 30 minutes after the kick off. The Leicester city finest striker, Kelechi Iheanacho who happened to be the man of the match strikes in a beautiful goal that sends the Egyptians shaking as if the fell into the red sea again.
For the first time since the days of Jay Jay and Kanu, I saw the super eagle squad played with technique and good team spirit. They played at their topmost form without feeling superior to others. For the first time in a long while I saw the team pocket their big-man/big-name so they could play quality football that indeed left the country enemies with nothing than suprise.
The players selection was quite new and at the same time fascinating. Names like Sadiq, Ola, Zaidu Aribo, Ajayi, M. Simon, Omerou, Awoniyi and Nwankeli were just new to my ears but their style of play beat my imagination. It was more like the taste of new wine in a new bottle, since both the coach and most players were new. Talking of the coach, Mr. Eguavoen. Indeed he carried out an incredible job in his team in just the short period of his arrival. His team performance today beats everyone expectations. My question is where was he hiding all this while that he wasn't selected to urge the eagles to fly? He is undisputable the man we've been looking for.
I am confident that we are bringing this trophy home with the display that was put in today. We really can't tell what the the trophy win can do for the country but I am convinced that wining this trophy can curb if not putting an end generally to Boko-Haram terrorism, Farmers/herders clash, bandits attack on highways and Bifran secession movement. Football has done more in time past, I am looking at the present and the future. Can football prove to be the game of peace for the African nation? Let's watch and see!
Soar higher Super Eagles. We the good and patriotic citizen of this great nation, Nigeria loves you and supports you.
