A NEW BABY IN THE FAMILY

Yesterday was a wonderful day for me and my family as we welcomed a new babyboy into the family. The baby was given birth to by Etieno (God's gift) my brother's wife. As a medical student, I had the privilege of being there with her throughout labour as this strenthened her and allayed her fears knowing that atleast someone she was familiar with was there.

Outcome was a very fair, live male baby who cried and kicked all four limbs at birth. He was welcomed with pure undiluted joy and excitement as I called the rest of the family immediately to update them about the good news.

I also had the privilege of receiving and blessing the baby onbehalf of the father as he was still at the workplace. It felt really awesome to have to handle a newborn and take charge of his life and have to decide what his future would look like.

After performing my duties, I thoroughly wrapped the cute potato and took him him to his mother who placed him on her chest and tried to establish breastfeeding immediately according to standard practice. Mother and baby are alive and well.
