Muhammad Iqbal was one of the great figures of the world who inspired me. He is a poet and philosopher. One of the sentences, most of which I like, reads "If you bow to this age, you mean throwing your shield to the ground on the battlefield" (in Indonesian / Malay means “Jika kautunduk pada ini zaman, bermakna kau melemparkan perisaimu ke tanah di medan pertempuran”)

I do not know the original sentence how and in what language because what I read has been translated into Indonesian / Malay. I read it in a book on the history of world political change after the second world war.

At that time the world's largest country that had stood for seven hundred years, that of the Ottoman Empire, collapsed, and its territory on several continents split into many countries. Then the world split into several military blocks, and established the nation's league, then the nation's union.

I read it in wartime. I do not remember the title of the book and the author's name. As I recall the writer was a Portuguese, who later converted to Islam in research. His wife died in research writing the book because of the weather, it is a thick book.

About the Iqbal Poem, how a sentence, a poem can affect people so acting for the benefit of his people.

Iqbal sentence I mentioned above, often quoted in my writing for several years. That's a remarkable sentence. Extraordinary. Maybe it was great for me because I was involved in the political revolt bloom in Aceh, back then. But no, it would be amazing to anyone who has a soul and a determination in upholding the truth he believes in a society, whatever that religion, race, and country that person is. Something that has been at a high level will be univelsal to humanity, such as Iqbal's work.

Such is my impression on the writings of Muhammad Iqbal. Of course, you guys taulan stemeans there who have a distinct impression on the world figure from India (Pakistan) it. As always, I expect your upvote for my post. Best regards steemit. Have a good fight. Good luck!
