My Artistic Journey - Episode 2/2018 - “My First Week on Steemit.com"

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

I broadcasted this on Facebook. So for Stemians, some of these things might be obvious. But for the uninitiated, it's all new - that includes me, for that matter :)

Last week I talked about the exciting platforms for musicians built on blockchain that I had discovered and what it means for us artists. In this episode I’ll recap my first week on Steemit.com - which also includes the apps built on top of it, like Sound, DTube and DLive

EDIT: In the video, I mention that if your post gets upvoted for e.g. $100, the rewards for an upvoted post are split 50/50 between the SBD (Steem Backed Dollar) and Steem. I need to correct it - from the $100, at least 75% goes to you as the author, and 25% to the curators. And then, your 75% is split into 50/50 as described above.

Also, based on my first payout, I understand that the value that's displayed next to your post as e.g. $100, is indeed an estimated value in USD. At the time of the payout, that's converted into SBD and Steem based on the current exchange rated between SBD/USD and Steem/USD.

This is exactly what Steemit needs! Someone sharing their journey through it and inspiring others to do the same. I think I commented on your video but should have placed it here. Great stuff. let's keep helping the music community through Steemit.

Thanks for the video. It's nice to get the perspective of a new Steemian. Below I attached the STEEM Bluepaper so you can take a look at it. It gives a simplified explanation of how the blockchain works.
