My Diary #1: Give Yourself a Break! | A WORD TO REMEMBER 📝💭
At the end of the day, I just want to lean my back straight in a fancy sofa. Wear my comfy pajamas with a cat on my lap. Watch my favorite Netflix series while having a good snack.
BUT that can be just a dream for now as I have to work harder to achieve my goals and support my family. After a long and tiring day, all I can do is take my uniform off after work. Do laundry. Cook for myself (I'm living away from my family for work). Have simple dinner. And have early sleep.
And that is my ONLY everyday routine. Luckily, I got Sundays for a ME-TIME and talk with my family (help of the technology)!
ME-TIME?
Having time alone is one of the ways to meditate. Take a deep breath and have time to think and relax. You can also do the things you like such as:
- reading books (continue to read the books you haven't done yet)
- watching your favorite movies
- cooking/baking (learn more)
- sewing (make or repair your own clothes/pillow cases/blankets/bed sheets...)
Not only that! You can also do the things you haven't done during weekends:
- do laundry
- house cleaning
- changing pillows/bed sheets
- re-arranging things/furnitures
- do errands (of course! Don't forget to give yourself a reward -buy your favorite food or buy some new clothes but mind to save as well)
- internet surfing (watching funny videos is helpful for mind)
- rest more (if you feel tired, take a good nap)
TAKE BREAK!
Giving yourself a lone time is not bad at all. Don't push yourself hard on making things to happen. It's okay to take a baby step at a time. Life is not a race after all.
It's okay if you can't have everything you are wishing for right now. Never pressure things because God knows how you are working hard for your dreams and family. There's always a right time. And one day when it's already in your hands, don't forget to thank him for guiding you and for listening to you in times of your breakdowns and hardships.
One of the things I've learned is never compare yourself to other, too. It's very important for us to boost our confidence by believing in ourselves. Don't lose your self aspects by looking at yourself small. Pat yourself instead and don't ask who's better. Because YOU ARE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF!
For now, I'm still working hard and aiming high. I know in God's perfect time, I can achieve it one by one. And I WILL! :)
