PV's Daily Log #10 - The job was done... I hope...

in #photofeed7 years ago (edited)

Hi there!!

If work as a photographer is also gathering photographic material for future actions - I can say that today I made fantastic job!

Short summary:

  • another calendar went to Oslo, Norway!
  • not much happend in Stock Photo matter... :(... BigStock approved all 29 shots with Christmas motives.
  • I found an application on smartphones called Microstockr - where after log in to every stock You have an account - You can have a real time preview on Your sales and balance. Great stuff.
  • morning outdoor shooting...

Yes - 'outdoor shooting'

Today's outdoor shooting took 80% of my working time.
Last 20% I spent to go through mails, notifications, socials, copying memory cards, cleaning the kitchen and making myself a beakfast after 1PM.. and coffee... and fast preparing the first Panoramic shot I took...

So let's see at this pano-image:

It maybe is little to much colorized - but I like it how it is. I made neutral version as well, but it is not as "strong" as this one.

So - as You can see here - conditions I met during my morning "short" trip were FANTASTIC!
I was planning to check the lake and go back, in final, I was shooting 4 hours, I took 350 shots (half of them are panoramas) and some video material for stock and video blog.

WEATHER:

Clear sky, so sunrise light was present, not like 2 days ago...
Fog - dense fog which stayed in place since 2 days already - no wind or rains.
Temperature - frosty -4, -5 degree Celsius - which create fantastic icy cover - hoar frost as big as 1 cm in some places.

I coudn't simply stick to the plan and go back home - in fact I felt myself really bad that I could be just in one place in the same moment - the magic was going on there in a really big area.

This is another example of totally different location and lighting conditions which I experienced:

Just a field and a tree- something boring, minimalistic and obvious... I wouldn't stop my car there for sure IF NOT THE LIGHT!

These are just an examples of photos I took... conditions I met, photovisions I had....

SUMMARY:

As I said, not much was going on in my "virtual" work but I made a huuge work in "real world" exploring fantastic outdoors, catching great light, making photo and video material for future use.

I think that one of the best shots 2018 was made today's morning...

More will be shared during time, so stay tuned!

At the end - conditions by the small forest lake, which I also visited 2 days ago - totally different landscape, totally different mood and pictures. Just an example:

Wow! I love that pano, anytime you can get such strong warm/cool contrast like that in the same image, its just magic.

True, it is really tricky to capture it because on the picture it simply looks unreal and "photoshoped" ;). But it was amazing in real time as well! Thanks for comment!

Frost is so ethereal, transform everything into a glass world

Yes indeed... so frigale, so unstable... every step I took there destroyed some part of this landscape...
I really celebrate such landscapes as no others - such conditions are quite rare and very short.
Tomorrow the weather forecast is similar, so I think, I will spend another few hours outdoor...
Thanks for comment!

I remember one of the most magical experiences for me was to wake up to a soft rime forest, but still frost, as deadly as it is for plants, is so beautiful. especially when it looks so iridescent, like Xmas postcard. It's like the place is under a magical spell or something and yes thus, transient!
