Cycling through national park 'De Maasduinen' - NL

in #nature7 years ago (edited)

Last weekend we rented a cabin about 3 hours driving from home across the Dutch border to relax and do some cycling and hiking.

On Saturday we did a cycling tour using the 'node network' (literally translated). It's a network of roads that are biker friendly between nodes so you can map your own tour. I has apps and a easy website so you can plan loops or can find an easy road to a nearby city.

We passed the following numbers on the map below. 30-44-43-85-15-27-90-82-31-80-81-83-33-14-86-43-44-30

The national park is a sandy area following the river 'Maas' with a combination of woods and moorland. Despite the cold and regular rain showers we enjoyed the tour and landscapes a lot.

A winter storm past the weekend before uprooting a lot of trees. We had the pass, climb over or under at least 20 tree's during our tour.

Christmas has passed, don't need a tree anymore.

20 trees? That was a heavy storm.
