Between Life & Death - A Girl Living In The Middle Of War ( An Original Story - Chapter 6 : Reality vs. Imagination)
An original story about myself when I was a kid and how the life was when my country was in the middle of war. It's the second series that I am writing, but it focuses on a child living in the midst of war, that's why I called it Between Life & Death. The first series "Rejected Since Childhood" focused on my life at schools with classmates it was written from the first point of view while this one I have written it using the third point of view since I have found it easier to narrate the story.
My motive is not to grow sympathy for me but instead, I am just showing the reality as it is for children whose living with war condition in their countries. Consider circumstances to be even tougher than mine that I have experienced in my life. Hope reader will get out with something to carry on after reading this story.

What we see through the TV window is no more than a projection of several possible real life scenarios that might or might not happen in your daily life. What makes it interesting that even though your eyes can catch the actions and reactions along with all necessary sensation of whatever presented, your body won’t be able to experience it. That what make it a tool that serves our brain imagination in order to evaluate and appreciate different personal needs and understanding.
No matter how much scary and dangerous the scenario that you are witnessing, the fact that it won’t get to you no matter what happened is more than enough to calm you down.
It was such a rare possibility for the family to watch anything at all on the TV. Electricity problems and real stress that is more than enough for a person to experience. With all the tension, still, kids were only the ones that had the passion for it when the opportunity comes to watch. Jojo loves to watch all kind of shows whether for kids or not, in such an age. She would not sleep in the presence of TV. She would sit down and watch carefully every movement that being presented in front of her eyes. It seems that she love arts, starting from media to colors, everything looks so fascinating for her.
She has seen a lot of actions movies on TV before. Her dream was to be a police officer that can catch bad people who ruin country and prevent peaceful moods from remaining. Unfortunately, the fact that girls can’t work such a job still didn’t know about for some reason. She thought that there is a complete equality between both gender somehow, but that wasn’t the reality.
That incident of their neighbor being killed last time couldn’t sneak out of her thoughts. She kept standing at that window recalling the same event over and over again in her mind. It was hard to believe that the man that she used to see won’t be showing up again.
It was dark outside and no cars to be seen on the streets. Some men were standing on the other side of those streets that Jojo’s house face. They sell all kinds of vegetables and fruits. They were standing quietly in that darkness waiting for customers to comes. In the window, Jojo was standing and observing her surroundings but something unexpected happens!!!
loud voices were approaching from far away and increasing the speed they are driving with. Before anything to be done about that dangerous feeling that you grasp firstly with that noise, those cars reached vendors area quickly. It was multiple police vehicles and two black cars that been followed by those policemen. Those black cars stopped so sharply and stood horizontally in the street and the cops stopped immediately because they knew what will happen next. Suddenly, windows from the black cars opened and a big weapon appears from it and the intermittent sound start rising. They shoot toward the vendors and cups as well and then rushed to drive away fast. One police car followed them and the other stayed to check on those innocent people that been just shot.
The girl was just standing there and couldn’t say anything. It was so shocking and confusing, it seemed like a scenario that happens in a movie. She has seen it before with her eyes but this one feels a lot different for some reason. It happened there with real people that she could meet, touch and talk with if she wants to. She didn’t want to know if they are dead or not, she doesn't want to hear about someone's death anymore. She left the room and the mother rushed as well and pulled her daughter away from the window fearing that they are still there. The Mom didn’t know that she was watching all that in the room but as soon as she discovered she took her away.
It was the first step for her to enter that world of coldness...
