Jammie Dodgers
Afternoon Steemit!
Yesterday I tried so hard not to have anything sweet to eat… but I caved in! I fancied some milk and biscuits. Then my husband said I had these. I didn’t believe him until he showed me! Yes, yes, yes!
Jammie Dodgers
Shortcake biscuits with a raspberry flavoured apple jam.
Well I have to say I didn’t know these biscuits had apple jam in the centre that was flavoured with raspberry. I thought it was always raspberry jam! It was only when I finished the pack did I decide to read how many calories were in it, then I came across the description. The shortcake was very crumbly, even when I dunked it in my milk. I think I ended up with at least half a biscuit lost in my milk. I know it might sound weird to dunk a jam biscuit in milk, but that’s how I like it. The shortcake was buttery and sweet. It also had a salty after taste which I never noticed before. The ‘raspberry’ jam was soft and chewy, but not too chewy. It just tasted like sweet raspberry jam, but after reading the packaging, I can taste the apple in my mouth too. Thankfully the flavours don’t contradict each other and I still mainly get raspberry floating around my tastebuds.
I love the look of these biscuits. The red heart is so unique to a Jammie Dodger. They really take me back to my childhood. Thankfully they weren’t too high in calories, even though I did eat the whole packet. There were 8 biscuits in total and 77 calories each, so it really wasn’t too bad compared to lots of other biscuits. Just means I have to be good and not eat any sweet today!
