About Culture, Art and A Photo Meaning (Indonesian Steemit Community)

Methodology is a system of science that studies methods. Meanwhile Method is a method used to do (do) research or a particular research. Therefore, an understanding of the methodology would be impossible if the mastery of research methods is ignored. Meanwhile, objects that can be researched scientifically and acceptable in the academic realm are logical objects, meaning that a clear causal relationship is an absolute must that is present in a research (scientific research). This paper will cover about culture, scientific research in the realm of culture. Before discussing more about scientific research in the realm of culture, it's good we first know what culture is.

Culture

Culture comes from the basic word "culture" which is actually very difficult to define. "Culture is one of the two or three most complicated words in the English language, because today culture has been used for important concepts in some intellectual and thought disciplines" (Raymond William 1976: 76-7). This has been seen in the early 1950s, when Alfred Kroeber and Clyde Kluckhohn (1952) have collected many definitions of culture from both popular sources, as well as from scientific sources.

The word culture which in English is called "culture" is often associated with the word "cultivation" which means "cultivation". This association demonstrates all human behavior in its ability to cultivate the natural surroundings as a form of increased human intelligence and human skil enhancement in "conquering" the natural surroundings for the purpose of survival. Over time, the term culture also refers to the improvement of one's skill in society as a whole, so it is not only related to the "conquest" of nature and the environment. This is often regarded as a synonym of value content in civilization. So in this period the term culture closely related to civilization, and people who are considered cultured are those who are considered to have civilized his life. The example taken by the European community at that time to distinguish the cultured / civilized person was by comparing the Europeans with the Africans who were between them there were technological, moral, and attitudinal differences. They argued at that time that Europeans were cultured / civilized in terms of their ability to conquer nature and the environment (technological advancement), and also related to morals and attitudes in living life in society. While at the time of Romanticism at the time of the industrial revolution, the term culture also began to be associated with the development of one's spirituality and to distinguish the development of psychirituality with the development of infrastructure alone in the times of industrial technology development. Then at the end of the nineteenth century came the inflections which emphasized that tradition and everyday life are cultural dimensions. This is reflected in the idea of ​​folk culture and national culture.
