German apple pie
Ingredients:
100 g of butter, at room temperature
200 gr + 65 gr of sugar
2 eggs L, at room temperature
125 gr of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
4 large apples, peeled and sliced
Sugar glas to decorate
Preparation of the German apple pie:
Turn the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with heat above and below and place a grid in the center of the oven.
Prepare a round mold of 23 cm in diameter with buttered butter and baking paper in the base.
With a mixer / kneading machine, beat the butter and the 200 gr of sugar at medium speed for about 3 minutes, until it is a pale and granulated mass. If necessary, lower with a spatula what remains stuck on the walls or what has remained in the background and could not be beaten.
One by one add the eggs and mix after each addition.
Add the sifted flour, the baking powder and the vanilla. Mix well until the dough is homogeneous. Pour the dough into the prepared pan.
Peel and chop the apples, removing the heart and slicing finely. Put the slices on the dough and press lightly so that they sink.
Mix the remaining sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle the mixture on top of the apples.
Place the mold in the oven for 50-60 minutes or until the surface is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let the cake cool, rolling it over a rack. Sprinkle the cake over with icing sugar.
