What makes life precious..
Way to often we take our life, relationships and other things for granted. We only realize how precious they are when we notice how fragile they truly are.
Being in multiple near death situations and losing the control over weather or not i am going to survive (Earthquake 2011, Christchurch) made me gain my most valuable perspective in life.
We can lose everything within seconds of a lifetime. Everything, which we have worked for may vanish. Being in a building which is falling apart and being dependent on external factors is an highly life changing experience.
I have been lucky to survive and i shared that feeling with many others having experienced similar near death experiences. We all came to a great positive point in common, that such an experience provided us with a new zest for life, as your realize you should not delay your dreams to a more "suitable" time in the future. Because, if your dreams are in reach, simply step up and be brave to go for them before it might be too late.
My biggest take away from this experience is to invest in:
Experiences, Friends, Family, Health & Love / Connection and to share as many things as possible with your surrounding. Life is a beautiful adventure and sometimes a reminder of how fragile certain things in life are, help us to appreciate their value. Thus, once in a while, i love to step out of my normal daily rush and just take on a different perspective and imagine all the fragile things in my life, which i am taking for granted and i make sure to be thankful for them.
:)
Pain makes life even more special as a manner of contrast.
Exactly, we can only appreciate the ups when we accept the downs as part of the journey.
