Looking through Don Shula’s life through the microscope of American Football, you will see his greatness is no match to what we see today.
He has been a coach for only two teams. Colts and Dolphins.
This was a long time. I was not even born. His resume as a coach is something broadcasters still talking. The closest was Belichic almost won a Super Bowl but Giants stopped them from matching the Dolphins.
Usually being a coach requires a track record. Shula started to play since high school till he got drafted in 51. He only played for 6 years before transitioning to coaching. He had a fling for it.
I can see why the Dolphins is built on a defensive mindset from long time ago.
Still today Dolphins tend to play tough defense. Offensively Dolphins are not like The Chiefs were they will score a bunch of points.
Shula contribution of the scheme game benefits the team to keep on winning game against a poor offensive team.
His life is loaded with Football after spending 33 years on the sport. Miami Dolphins has been the place he spent most of his time on the game. In this day and age, Shula has a great time and two championships speak louder now since he is gone. History has been in his favor to show perfection is possible when a team plays a game heart fully.
Mr Don Shula, South Florida, all football fans will always recognize your greatness and abilities to put the game high.
People will remember the impact and imprint you leave for Football many generations to come.
