TGiF ๐ท๐ป and a very warm welcome to my world ๐. The weekend is upon us and am feeling upbeat๐น. I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive ๐ฏ. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it ๐จ.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze๐ was so wonderful, a short walk but I loved it. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon to the city centre for my passport, I will be travelling soon๐น. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans. Funeral arrangements underway for the army chief who died in yesterday's chopper crash. Country in sombre mood๐ฟ.
Globally, occupied west bank trending as Israeli military launched a major raid on Tulkarem and Nur Shams areas๐. At least five Palestinians killed, several homes damaged and others demolished ๐ฟ. Lots of people arrested too.
Not far off, Iran says it's air defence system shot down 3 drones amid Israel attack tensions. So did Israel retaliate๐?
Let's go to Europe, where G7 leaders were meeting in Italy. They have asked Israel to show restraint.
In the other war, Ukraine downed a Russian bomber. President Zelensky visited soldiers on the frontline in
Donetsk. He has appealed to NATO to come through with military aid to help defend against Russia attacks.
Remember aid from the US is also delayed๐. Something's gotta give as soon as possible.
Croatia trending as top court barred president Zoran Milanovic from becoming prime minister. Political shenanigans๐น.
Across the pond in the US, Trump trial resumed after a man set himself on fire outside the court. US emergency doused the flames and took him away on a stretcher๐. He remains in critical condition. I don't even know what to say๐ฟ.
Finally, India trending as the first of seven phases of the national election kicked off today. The elections will take six weeks, with 969 million registered voters eligible to cast their vote using 5.5 million electronic voting machines over 44 days. The results will be announced on June 4th ๐.
