Lumbini Garden
Lumbini Garden is one of the special places in Bangalore which are made for bursting all your stress. May it be a long days stress at office or the weeks hectic schedule to be burst on weekend. There are couple of others places in Bangalore for fun time with family, but this stays special as this remains inside the city limits and is accessible by the outer ring road near Hebbal.
The Lakes
The area once in history was surrounded by many lakes and as the civilization advanced and the city like Bengaluru grew, few lakes went below the feet and were submerged by the growing concrete buildings. The bigger lakes have turned out to be the smaller lakes we still have alive. The smaller lakes disappeared. And some lakes are just the dumping place for the civilization domestic waste. Among the few lakes left in Bengaluru, the Nagavara Lake banks the beautiful Lumbini Garden
What does Lumbini Garden offer ?
The very idea of Lumbini gardens has been a place to relax and have fun with family. The idea spins around the needs of necessity and the luxury you can feel. The garden offers lot of things for kids, for family, food, entertainment and amusements
- Boating
- Wave pool
- Kiddy Rides
- Amusement Rides
- Ambient Park
- Events
- Summer Specials
And lot more activities seasonal and occasional too
The Boating
The garden offers a variety of boat rides. Pedal boats for couples just be lazy and float on the waters with a cup of coffee or a popcorn munching and lots of fun. Coffee boats which are meant to socialize and sip the on boat coffee and snacks offered. The Battery operated boats and quick ride boats that goes around the lake.
The Wave pool works great for summer, they have it well maintained and organized. They are cool enough to have spaces for kids and adults. The garden has set up multiple rids suitable and safe for kids like the toy trains and the rides over track and up in the air. For adults they also have the small bungy jump, bull back rides and Columbus rides next to the lake. The park has trampoline for kids. One of the best thing about the park is the seating arrangements that are made facing the lake. Cold breeze brushes the water surface and runs towards the seats facing the lake.
Day at Lumbini Garden
I was in Indira Nagar and was meeting my friend after a long gap. We decided and chose the Lumbini Garden. It is an hours ride to Lumbini Gardens on a week day as it passes through the IT hub, Manyata tech park. Through the busy roads, we arrived at the entrance of Lumbini Gardens.
Plenty of space to park your two wheelers and four wheelers
Entry Fee of Rs 100 ($1.6)
As you enter Inside, you see a small walk way which goes right and left. Left goes all the way down to the café and the boating area. It was about to be dark and we did not opt boating in first place. You will get some good coffee here. We kept walking to either sides of the garden.
Few photographs from the park,
The Sculptures
I missed to take photographs for few as we were happy with the coffee.
The Sunset
Standing on the right side of the Gardens, you have all the access to the beautiful sunset.

After the Sunset
You have lot of options after the sunsets and it's dark. The best one I would advice is just to keep watching the beautiful evening turn into the night.
I have two views of night skyscrapers and the beautiful waters of lake.
Would you still consider spending you time away from this beautiful view.
