REGENERATION NOT REFORMATION.

Regeneration is the work of the Holy Spirit in the heart of the sinner who received Christ into his life. By regeneration, his spirit that was dead through sin will be given spiritual life and when this happens, he becomes born again, born of God, born of the spirit and a new creature. It means that God brings a person from his old life style to the new. It is the act of God through the Holy Spirit. Apostle Paul reminds us of our spiritual deadness in accordance with course of this world. By nature man is evil. His nature leads him to do evil. An evil man cannot change himself and will not choose God.

There are many people who call themselves Christians who are not Christians. Many people have all the right words, but their heart is not regenerate. They like big trees with much green leaves but no fruits to justify their existence.

What is regeneration?

• Regeneration is not reformation because reformation comes through self-effort which only changes outward of the sinner but regeneration is done by the spirit without self-effort.

• Regeneration is not water baptism which is outward evidence (or testimony) to inward work of God’s grace in the heart of the born again Christian.

• We are regenerated by the Holy Spirit the moment we deeply sorrow for our sins and whole-heartedly turn away from them and receive Christ into our life.

Jesus stated that except a man is born again, he cannot see or enter into the kingdom of God. Regeneration is a new creation reality. Being born by the indwelling holy Spirit of God. When a person is not born again, he cannot understand the things of the spirit.

Regeneration will give us the ability to live a life that is pleasing to God and make fellowship with God possible.
It is only those who wholeheartedly surrender their lives to Christ at salvation that would be regenerated.
