AIR DOLL (2009) - A Movie Review I 100% Power Up

There is no other word to describe Kore-Eda's films, except 'MAGIC'.
Not a review, just writing some of my thoughts.

Plot: A sex-doll comes to life, develops a soul and falls in love.

I mean yeah, the plot sounds interesting unlike most of his works that focuses on portraying life of humans. But believe me, this film is no exception.

One of the lowest rated, least praised films of Kore-Eda as I saw in Internet. After I watched, obviously, this film is misinterpreted and misunderstood.

I get it, Air Doll is not a film made for a mass audience nor for people who hasn't watched his previous works. Air Doll is a film that's full of passion and feelings but not with meanings. Kore-Eda does not bother to answer your questions. Skipping all that, he does his magic, which is a far better thing to do.

Spectacularly captured camerawork, exploring themes like life and death, love and loss, but in a so charming so melancholic way. Performance by Bae-Doo Na was absolutely adorable. I can feel the passion he puts into the characters, so touching.

I'm in love with the smile he brings without me knowing. So much Love..... He's my favourite director. I've seen about six movies of him, and all of them made me fly me high. This highness I'll never reach with no drug whatsoever. Amazing feeling.

Overall, Air Doll is a movie that's filled with passion, and something that relies more on feelings than facts. I'll bring a more detailed write-up later on. Probably after seeing it again, Because I think watching Rodriguez's Alita Battle Angel which had a similar storyline affected my viewing here a little bit.
