AFTER A LONG DAY

After a long day, all i want is a vacation to an unknown land,
Full of tress,flowers and birds...
They i can unwind and let go of all the pressures of life;
Of having to meet up with my goals and targets
Support friends and family
And meet the needs of my partner.

After a long day
Having spent hours of unending lectures
And coming to meet my house all messed up;
With dirty cloths and dishes
I could scream my lungs out
My stomach craves for food
My eyes beg to sleep.

Patricia made matters worse
She took my wallet with her
having me trek 10km to get it
with the scorching of the sun
To discover my cooking gas was out
And my ATM card swallowed up by the machine.

After a long day,no water to take my bath
No light to charge up my device
Laying down helplessly; hungry and angry
Mum called reporting of dad's i'll health
And the doctor demanding for extra five hundred thousand naira

All i want is to sleep and wake up to see all these was a dream;
A mirage,fruitless imagination
I need that vacation
So i can calm my burdened heart
Fix all these mess and think straight
To sleep and awake to a world full of hopes and peace.

Let me just find sleep and inner peace after this tough, rough and long day!
