Introduction
Hi, am @princekelly here.
I am happy to welcome you to the second episode of my blog series on the exciting Steeditor.
In the first episode of this series, I introduced Steeditor as an open source platform for writers on the Steem Blockchain. Developed by @jakipatryk, where users can write, edit, and submit posts to the Steem Blockchain. We also discussed the various exciting options available on Steeditor to help writers create quality texts to help improve post qualities.
In this episode, we would talk extensively on an exciting new feature which was added to Steeditor about 15 days ago. According to my research of favorite apps on the Steem Blockchain, Steeditor remains the first platform to have adopted the Steem 19.10 official update to its platform. If you disagree with this, you can kindly drop a comment under this post with the name of such platform. Link to Steem 19.10 official update post here
It's well over two months since, Steemit released the official update in Steem 19.10, with the main highlight for me being the Unlimited content editing update. However, this new feature hasn’t been implemented on steemit.com, until a large number of witnesses have updated.
Fortunately, Steeditor doesn’t have to wait before integrating this update. Users like @justtryme90 and @schattenjaeger whom, have questioned the non-availability of this option can start using the unlimited content editing on Steeditor. @justtryme90 posted an article over two years ago on unlimited content editing here, and @schattenjaeger article here, over a year ago.
Unlimited Content Editing On Steeditor
Unlimited Content Editing On Steeditor
Unlimited content editing is, however, the power to edit Steemit broadcasted posts, even after the seven-day payout. Steeditor added this update to its project over 15 days ago.
How do I use this function on Steeditor?
Login to Steeditor here. Once you log into Steeditor via the Steemconnect login interface, you arrive in your Steeditor dashboard. Scroll down to recent posts, click on see more, and all your Steemit post would be displayed. Select the pencil icon on the post you wish to edit; this would take you to the editing page of Steeditor. From here you can edit the content of your post, once done with editing, click next, and the next page is the advance section settings of the post, click next, and a send button would be available to broadcast your post to the Steem Blockchain.
You have just edited a post after payout!!!. Easy, isn’t it?

My Opinion View On Unlimited Content Editing
Steemit has taken a bold step in this update, and I see Steeditor as a forerunner in this exciting update, by early adaptation into its development. The Steemit 19.10 update is a long overdue achievement by Steem Blockchain, which was immediately adopted by Steeditor.
Advantages Of Unlimited Content Editing
The previous policy where it’s impossible to edit posts after payout seems redundant and limits educational posts on the Steem Blockchain. Where an author isn’t able to update their educational posts, and have to create a new one from scratch, which I see as an issue for scholarly articles on the Steem Blockchain.
Let me cite an example here:
- I am curious about the feeding habits of the Animal Kiwi, and I searched for a post on Steemit, about it and got some interesting information, and I bookmarked the post for future reference. After a few months, the author had made a more in-depth and slightly different discovery from his previous posted information. No way for him to update the information in his previous post, except he creates a new post from scratch.
This, however, leaves the reader with incorrect and outdated information and the author with no means to update. However, with the new unlimited content editing update, the author has two ways he can get readers updated;
- Create an original post and add the link to the previous post to help users navigate quickly to the updated information.
- Edit the whole article with the new and updated information.
The previous setting without unlimited content editing is, however, not a problem on journalistic contents like my blog.
- As an author, I broadcasted some information to help Steemians navigate better on Steemit. And after some a week or two, I noticed some critical and necessary omissions in my post. I decide to edit and put essential exclusions in place and rebroadcast to the Steem Blockchain. I would feel much better knowing my writing image is redeemed.
I believe these are a few ways, which unlimited content editing would help authors and readers on the Steem Blockchain.
Disadvantages Of Unlimited Content Editing
As we all know on the Steem Blockchain, that each Steemian has been allocated a daily specific bandwidth for posting to the Steem Blockchain, Excessive unlimited content editing by a user may reduce his allocated bandwidth.
Editing after post-payout has no monetary gain for authors and curators.
These are my concerns with unlimited content editing, which are quite ok by me.
My Suggestions For Steeditor
As a user of the project, I would like an update button added to the edit page of the unlimited editing feature. The update button would host a link to an updated post or the next series of a blog post. This would ensure users have easy access to continuous learning/reading of their favorite post. Authors can easily attract readers to their series.
The update button can also be added to Steemit, and am considering making a post on Utopian-io through the suggestion category. But am having difficulty selecting which platform the suggestions should go to, between Steemit and Steeditor. Am considering making it to both projects.
I would suggest to @jakipatryk, to create a discord channel, where users of Steeditor can converge to discuss, get the first-hand update on the project and also help each other write better posts.
However, if he thinks it's quite a huge task, he can contact the Utopian-io team on discord, with a proposal to add a Steeditor room to the Utopian official discord channel.
I, however, believe the former, to be the best option. I think Steeditor would be getting updates which would be relevant to other communities on the Steem Blockchain, staying on Utopian would limit the developmental progress of the project.
Steeditor should have an official Steemit account where it can upvote users posts as an incentive for using Steeditor. No Steem power?A delegation system where delegators would receive Steediotr free token for delegation Steem power to the Steeditor community account.
Lastly, Steeditor can benefit from having its token as an incentive to users of the platform. Where users obtain a specific amount of Steeditor token when posting via Steeditor to the Steem Blockchain. A lot of new platforms have adopted this strategy, and it is working tremendously. For example, I use Actfit for fitness and accumulation of free tokens.
I asked a question in the previous series of this blog post from the developer and Utopian contributors.
This, however, has answered the question "Will Steeditor become obsolete to Utopian contributors once the new Utopian frontend is up and running!!!!?"
to a great extent.
Thank you, Steeditor for being an early adopter of this exciting development on the Steem Blockchain. And I hope more improvements gets added, and the user’s suggestions on enhancements taken into considerations in improving the project.
I have used this episode two of the Steeditor series answered the question I asked in the previous episode of the series. I believe Steeditor would still be a valuable writing app for me If the developer can keep up with new and exciting features, and also implement quality suggestions from users via the Utopian-io suggestion category.
Conclusion
Posting on the Steem Blockchain have being made comfortable with Steeditor, and this recent feature is a welcome idea.

Thank you for reading, until next time. Enjoy unlimited content editing on Steeditor.
I want to start this moderating with a bit of a mea culpa. In my moderation comment for a previous post of yours, I said that the very topic of this current post is an available option. While I do think it could have been made clearer in that post that the option is new and unique to Steeditor, not researching it was my bad. And while it did not affect the overall judgement of the post, my comment may have reflected negatively on you in the eyes of some readers.
Now to this post. On the content side, this post is excellent. You talk in depth about the feature, highlight its advantages and disadvantages, and present appropriate graphical representation. I would have liked a larger format for the images, as one currently has to open them in a new tab to actually see what's going on.
I am, of course, always happy when people think of Utopian as a potential solution for issues. We're here to help.
I will repeat my issue from the previous post, however: The post had significant issues of style, grammar, and proofreading that hinder the appreciation of its otherwise excellent content. I have recommended that you use a service such as Hemingway or Grammarly, and would like to reiterate that recommendation. Those apps won't solve every issue, but they will highlights some places where you could improve this aspect.
