In the next few days we shall be looking at some interesting discoveries about the Earth. In view of this, today we shall look at the hottest and coldest place on Earth.

The hottest spot on Earth is El Azizia in Libya. According to NASA Earth Observatory, El Azizia is where temperature records from Weather Stations shows it hit 136 degrees Fahrenheit (57.8 degrees Celsius) on 13 September 1922.
There is likelihood of other places and perhaps hotter than this but that would
be outside or beyond the network of Weather Stations.

The award for the coldest place on Earth goes to Antarctica. The chill factor is somehow weird. The winter temperature there can drop below minus 100 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 73 degrees Celsius).

But the lowest temperature ever recorded on Earth came from Vostok Station in Russia, where records reveal the air plunged to a bone-chilling temperature of minus 128.6 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 89.2 degrees Celsius). This was according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on 21 July 1983.
